Sounds like a different spin on the Sovereign Citizen conspiracy theory.

I once found a body floating in the water at Cape Henry in the Chesapeake Bay back in the early 90’s. I got treated like a suspect, and was grilled as to why I moved the body. I found the deceased was floating face up in waist deep water about 10 yards offshore, and dragged him up on the beach. I told the investigator I could’ve just ignored the body and kept running down the beach, but the tide was going out and it could’ve been lost forever. They told me later that the deceased had been an Army officer who slit his wrist, and the jumped or fell off the Chesapeake Bay Bridge a few hours prior. I didn’t mind the suspect treatment since his family at least knew what happened to him. I assumed he had killed himself since the wound on his wrist was quite obvious.

I saw this several months ago. I doubt it was meant to be a comedy, but it turned into one.

As a former Federal employee, I can attest to what Gumshoguy said. The large majority of Federal civilian employees are to the Left of the political spectrum. The union was basically an arm of the Democrat Party, and some times the union leaders sounded like they were quoting from “The Communist Manifesto” and “Das Kapital.”

A couple of years ago, I asked our veterinarian about our cats’ diet. He asked me what I was feeding them, and I told him it was supposedley the “best” commercial food available at the grocery store. He told me that while I thought I was doing my kitties a favor, I had actually been conditioned by advertising to feed my cats “a bunch of vegetables and starches, with little protein.” He wrote me a “prescription” for a cat food (dry) that was all meat, with a miniscule amount of “binder” that was also animal-based. He told me cats need veggies like submarines need screen doors. Outside of the oat grass I have for them to eat occassionally, he said to not give them veggies, and use the (expensive) brands he recommended. My cats have been happy and healthy ever since.

I’ve been pretty happy for the almost two years I’ve subscribed to SC. It’s a good value for the money, as far as I’m concerned. My only concern is when the shows go off topic, and get into the paranormal, UFOs, etc. As long as it doesn’t become a regular thing, I’ll stay subscribed.

So far, I have read all of them that are available. The next book in the series won’t be available on Amazon until mid-November. The books keep getting better as they go along, plunging ever deeper down the rabbit hole.

“The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States..” Article I, Section 8 gives Congress the power to “lay and collect taxes, duties, imports, and excises.

All of the “Sovereign Citizen” nonsense about income taxes being illegal is ridiculous.

When I was stationed in Hawaii, I saw what I thought were weasels running about all over the place. I learned that they were actually mongooses. They were brought to Hawaii in the 1880’s to combat rats on the sugar cane plantations. They introduced 72 of them into the big island of Hawaii, and later into some of the other islands. That small group of mongooses has turned into a huge infestation of the little critters. They didn’t do too well against the rats, mainly because rats are nocturnal creatures, and mongooses hunt during the day. They did manage to almost wipe out native birds, since the mongooses eat their eggs.

I liked “Exists” and “Willow Creek.” I watched “Big Legend” on Amazon Videos last Friday and thought it was pretty good, as Bigfoot movies go. I’m slowly working my way through the list that Steve E posted, as well as some others. If you’re an Amazon Prime member, there are lots of Sasquatch movies included with your membership. They also have a sizeable selection of others that aren’t included and you have to pay to watch. Of all the streaming services, Amazon has the most movies on this topic as far as I can tell with my limited research.

The photo of the Astro Pops stirs my enteprenurial spirit! I would by a box of them for $.25 each, then sell them at school for $.50 each. I didn’t like them, but they were all the rage in 1975. I soon branched out into Tootsie Pops, Blow Pops, and Charms Sweet ‘n Sour Pops. I had so many people at my locker buying candy between periods that the dean of my high school made me open my locker to prove I wasn’t selling pot.

Wilson Combat has designed a new round, the .458 Ham’r, and an AR-style rifle to fire it from. It is different than the .458 SOCOM cartridge in that it produces 45,000 psi of chamber pressure, pushing a 300 gr. bullet at 2100 fps. The owner of the company says it will drop any animal in North America. I don’t know if his claim includes Sasquatches, but since there are some huge grizzlies and polar bears on the continent, this might be another option for defense against the big hairy guys. Since it is an AR-style weapon, it has the ability to quickly deliver multiple shots as well as quick magazine changes, in case it takes several shots to drop a Sasquatch, or two or three. There is also a company making AR-style rifles chambered in .45/70. It also offers the advantage of quick reloading that you don’t have in a lever action rifle.

I’m not sure that I buy into the conventional wisdom that Sasquatches are almost impossible to kill. There are a lot of stories of them being killed with common ammo types throughout the years. Unfortunately we have no way of knowing for sure of any unsuccessful attempts to kill a Sasquatch that resulted in a human’s death. They are flesh and blood creatures after all, so they can be killed. I guess for now all we can do is continue to speculate, and hope that no one finds out the hard way that they were under gunned if attacked by a Sasquatch.

Wow! I wouldn’t want to run into whatever made that print. It must be humongous.

@Gumshoguy: Well, that’s the Army for you, just calling things whatever they want:) I listen to a lot of the Sasquatch Central “videos” on YouTube, and I assumed that the narration was verbatim from the stories submitted to them. I didn’t think about any editing they might have to do. It makes sense that some things could get changed in the process.
