Gumshoe, I was wondering if certain eyeshine colors correspond to certain geographic areas. For instance,I have only seen/ heard of red eyeshine here in Ga but have heard of mostly white eyeshine in mississippi.

    Gumshoe,

The spectral reflectivity should be the same day and night from a straight on view. We might not notice eyeshine during daylight because their pupils are very tiny.

If they have a tapetum lucidium and if like other mammals, it is thickest at the fovea (most sensitive point of vision),the relective wavelength of color changes as the angle of incidence moves peripherally because the tapetum lucidium thins toward the edge of the eye.

Gumshoe, do you have state listing with each of those reports. Looking for a pattern

Hi Michael L, Yes entry that you seen above has a report attached to it. The colors listed above are not center focused on nighttime sightings. They represent day and night reportings.

There are simply too many states and provinces involved to list side by side, but what are you looking for exactly? What type of pattern are looking at. If I can help I will providing time permits.

Wow guys! I really appreciate the information. If the eyecolor changed could you tell if the sasquatch was looking in a different direction than before?

I’m pretty certain their nightime vision is better than ours but if they have a tapetum lucidium, the probably see much worse than we do (acuity)in the daytime. However depending on the type colorvision (like ours or dichromat) that difference may have been offset. Dichromats tend to see movement better than trichromats (like us).

Augustine, how far away was this picture and where do you think the sun was?

According to eyewitnesses, these creatures respond to stress with pupil dilation (as do we). With a 10 mm pupil (estimated, our pupils get to about 8mm at their largest) during a stressful period(maybe an encounter with us) and a tapetum lucidium that could potentially reflect 50% of light in the red spectrum (humans reflect 10% of red light), it is possible that this is a picture of its retina reflecting direct sunlight.
