ParticipantStan, I hope Wess gets the message. I also sent this suggestion to him a while back. Be nice to download the member podcasts to Itunes etc. I subscribe to other podcasts that do this so it can be done. I just don’t have the time to sit at the computer to listen to member podcasts and would love to have it downloaded.

ParticipantCanadian here as well
In 2010 my girlfriend at the time and I bought a cottage on an acreage on the Trent Canal system. It really was a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house on 2 acres and was winterized but we used it as a cottage. In the late fall of 2011 I was up there for the weekend by myself doing some renovations. There we no neighbours up there at that time of the year although there are some full time residents but nothing close to us. I remember is was late fall as the leaves were off the trees and it was cold but the water was not frozen. This night I went out for a smoke and wandered down to the water where the dock was. It was dark and no moon but the water was only about 75′ from the cottage so I could easily walk to the water with the light of the cottage. I walked down to the edge of the water having my smoke when all of a sudden there was a big “kerplunk” near me in the water. I thought “jeez that’s a huge fish” It was very close to me and I would guess 10-20′. I could not see where it was as it was too dark to see any ripples in the water but it was close. I couldn’t think of anything else it could be but a fish but it just did not seem right as it made a definite “kerplunk’ like you get when a person does a cannonball into the water. What ever it was had an air gap after it entered the water such as a rock. If it was a rock it would have to be 8 or more pounds. I never gave it much more thought and Sasquatch never entered my mind as I thought they were from the Pacific Northwest. I really didn’t think it could be a fish as it was a big something coming into the water with some weight to it.
Fast foreward and I am now in BC and not with the girlfriend anymore. I was listening to Sasquatch Chronicles last year on a very early episode. There was on guest on from Ontario and he mentioned that he was looking for Sasquatch and knew where they were and said it was in the Kawartha Lakes. When I heard that a chill went right up my spine. That is the area where the cottage was. To this day I can’t think of what could have made that splash other than someone throwing a large rock into the water near me. I can’t say what it was and it didn’t scare me at the time but if knew then what I know now it would be a different story! Not much of an encounter but its all I have hahaha

Thanks for getting back to me Steven. Just finished listening to your encounter on Dogman Radio. Very interesting stories!
The reason I asked about Kawartha Lakes is that in 2010 my girlfriend at the time and I bought a cottage on an acreage on the Trent Canal system. ParticipantHi Steven B
I am living on Vancouver Island British Columbia but originally from Ontario. Just listening to your audio interviews, very interesting. Have you ever heard of any Dogman or Sasquatch activity in the Kawartha Lakes area?

ParticipantI have been thinking of leaving as well. The only reason being that there is no way to listen to the members episodes except on the computer. I would like to be able to download them onto my ipod. I don’t post often but enjoy the forums. I send Wes a message about having another way to download the members podcast like other subscription podcasts do but we will see what he does.

ParticipantIs Sasquatch Watch Radio off the air? I know they have not had a podcast since Sept 15th. I was checking their site yesterday and did not see any announcements.

ParticipantI wish the member episodes could be downloaded from an RSS feed so I can listen to them on my Ipod. That way I would not be reading the intro. I subscribe to a few other podcasts that do this and not sure why they don’t do it here.
