ParticipantI really enjoy the show. I don’t have cable but I buy every episode. I enjoy listening to the witness encounters. And I think the four of them have good chemistry together for this show.
In reality they are doing short trips in the woods? Do you really think they are going to find a Bigfoot as opposed to staying months? They have a team of people out there (I assume) any Sasquatch is going to probably stay clear. I think you kind of know that going in and just hope for the best that they get lucky.

ParticipantOh no!
I used to pick wild raspberries on the reservation where I grew up. It was the scariest feeling I’ve ever had and I was just a child at the time. I would never ever advise someone to feed these creatures.January 4, 2016 at 8:41 pm #64968Ashlee M
ParticipantAs sort of a new comer here to this site, I really enjoyed that episode! I know you are a member here on the forums Knobby. I will definitely listen again!

ParticipantIt took me a while to see it but I can totally see it now. I don’t know if it is some sort of natural camera trickery or there really is someone there. To me it looks like something else is in the tree too something big like a bear. Very scary! I will need to carry binoculars in my car from now on. I travel in the UP a lot and live here.
And I do see two Sasquatches one to the right of a tree and the other to left.

ParticipantI’m leaning towards costume for this one. Even though I don’t know what a Sasquatch looks like in person but I would expect to see more muscle mass from descriptions i’ve read.

ParticipantThe only counties that I am particularly interested in is Menominee and Chippewa. Where I grew up a man from my neighborhood disappeared leaving his wife and children behind. I always wondered what happened but I was too young to recall (chippewa).
The Menominee county one I was interested may have not even been reported up here because I heard the woman that disappeared was in another state at the time.
Those are definitely some interesting tid bits of information and some unfortunate situations surrounding their deaths.
It’s really particularly heartbreaking as a mother of a two year old boy. I’m not saying Bigfoot isn’t responsible for mysterious deaths but I just don’t know enough information to make a conclusion. I feel like some deaths can be explained as other predators, homicide or not being equipped to live in Nature and dying of starvation and then becoming a meal for scavengers. I just don’t know anything about that to have an opinion one way or another. I do think you have a lot of information and you probably have studied this a while.
Thank you kindly for sharing your research. I will most definitely look into that.December 20, 2015 at 8:05 pm #62959Ashlee M
Participantcyndie r, I understand that you are concerned for human safety. I don’t know much of anything about missing people in national forests other than bigfoot could be a culprit. I plan on doing a lot more research on that.

ParticipantGum: I had no idea there were so many missing people up here. I’m curious about one or two in particular from here. Is there any way I could email you? I can’t tell f this forum has private messaging or not.
Have you been up here looking? I could tell you what I’ve heard up here in exchange for the info on the missing people.December 19, 2015 at 11:24 pm #62886Ashlee M
ParticipantPlease excuse my tardiness in responding to my post. I do not know how to quote here so i’m just going to write back to each individual person who responded to my post.
Linda W, I always go back on forth on what I think they are either a type of humanoid or monkey like primate. The only thing I pretty much dismiss is alien theories. I believe this a real earthly creature.
Chris422- I agree with you.
Cyndie R- I live in a very forested area (Upper Peninsula of the Michigan). I’m pretty sure that it if Sasquatch exists it lives here part of the year (not sure they could survive a winter here) or just passes through. I have a feeling there are so many sightings that aren’t even spoken of publicly in fear of ridicule (like every where else). The UP is only inhabited by 3% of people. If the winters weren’t so harsh it would be a great place for them. To my point though, I pretty much take the risk any time I go into a wooded area to run into wildlife- I’ve seen deer, bear and my parents have had a wolf in their yard. I pretty much have to take that risk any time I go somewhere people are not.
Pam – I love your attitude and I wish I had the same faith as you do. People will adapt sure but in my opinion more harm will come in a sooner official discovery rather than a later.
GumShoguy- Thank you. I’m sorry but that’s the way I feel. People hunt endangered species now for body parts, medicinal purposes and for who knows what else. The natural world as we know it will not live on in future generations. We have to teach how to respect the natural world and how to live ethically. I don’t think we are there just yet.
I’m sorry it’s getting late so I’m just going to respond with this:
I don’t know enough about the missing people in national forests to comment on that issue.December 17, 2015 at 9:00 pm #62662Ashlee M
ParticipantAre you a believer? Do you need science to clarify that Sasquatch is a living breathing species to feel better? Why? What will it solve if one is captured? There is no doubt that our world will indeed change. Our environment will change. Everything we think we know (as a general population will change). This isn’t just some animal per say a new rodent species. This is a living breathing creature that walks on two legs just like us. Everything will change.
What if it is proven true and the government decides to make a mass extinction of them? Then we lose part of our natural world. I want my children to grow up knowing we can co exist with creatures as long as we are respectful to our surroundings. The way things are now the world isn’t ready for a Bigfoot discovery. People we hunt them for fun because that is how people are. Government restrictions won’t stop them. They don’t stop them now from pouching. In a world where most people don’t understand what a vital species wolves are for ecosystem, we are not ready for a Bigfoot discovery just yet.
Parents who aren’t very outdoorsy will not let their children experience nature if they know for a fact a 7-9 foot creature is out there that weights 600+. I want to take my boys hunting, fishing and hiking yet. I’ve been on this earth 33 years almost and i’m still alive. I grew up on a reservation and have experienced some odd things but I’m not scared especially since it’s not a known creature that 100% exists.
I just don’t understand the point to prove it’s true if you know in your heart it is. I’m afraid of fighting among us. There will not be people like us (most of us I assume) who just want to let them be. I just feel like conservation or extinction in this case either way is not good. Right now it’s a no win situation to me.
I will go on reading stories, studying encounters, recounting my own strange encounters, watching Bigfoot videos, and listening to podcasts – but I will not waste my energy on trying to prove it’s existence. -
