ParticipantGumshoguy….well said! I agree with you whole heartedly that ” that I hope the friendly ribbing isn’t received as open harsh criticism to anyone”! People need to stick together on this subject in any hopes of getting clear answers. Someone’s opinion is their right and we should respect it, but that doesn’t mean we have to agree. I’m sorry about your encounter, and I have to admit the feelings you had were probably very real, and justified. I don’t think I would ever be the same after experiencing something that terrifying. Just my opinion here, but the saying ” be careful what you wish for” is so true in that one longs to be face to face with one of these…yet most often upon having the encounter one is left with such fear and terror they wish they never put themselves in that predicament. I do hope for full disclosure on this, but I by no means want myself or family to be face to face with one of these things in the middle of nowhere (regardless if they are man, or beast). I wish you the best!

ParticipantSteve…I agree! I’m positive David would prefer to not have any new cases come to light and it just end. So sad…as a parent I couldn’t imagine the pain and sorrow one feels. Truly the worst thing that could ever happen as a parent/protector to have one of your children disappear. I pride myself in protecting my child, and not knowing the true dangers when you think your in a safe environment like camping in the middle of no where where your kid should be able to learn and run is so disturbing. Haven’t taken my kid into the woods and refuse to now. Even when her school sent a flier home advertising elementary kids get into parks for free…that disturbed and angered me beyond belief. I hate to think they started that because of David spreading the word on the atrocities happening within their parks and them trying to brush it under the rug and promote parents to taking their hearts into a dangerous situation. I don’t care if this doesn’t happen to most whom visit…it’s happens far too much for me to risk my child’s wellbeing that’s for sure. I know David tells people to still experience the wilderness and doesn’t promote people to stay away, but I can’t play with fire when it comes to my only reason for living! So sad, and I will pray for this child and their family. I wish searchers around the globe were made to read his books and learn as much from them as possible. Just because their books say a child doesn’t go up hill, more than a certain amount of miles, ext… David’s research has proven time and time again that searchers need to go beyond the current search limits of what they think a child can do because something bigger is going on. Maybe if they changed their search criteria more missing people would have a better chance of being found alive. Wake up people…this is very real! David Paulides is a hero in my eyes for bringing this to the publics attention.
