I believe that this was on one of the shows here, but the story went something like this. A hunter shot a squatch and it started thrashing about and screaming alot. Then out of the forest another one shows up and tears the wounded one to pieces and started eating it. Have not heard to many stories like this but many of them eating humans. Makes one wonder!
While I have never seen one I have heard rock clacking from at least three and seen some tracks and at age 15 and alone I was scared to death. I’m 52 now but have never forgot and always watching and listening close and always armed when in the mountains. Don’t know how it would be to actually see one close up. Don’t think anyone does until it actually happens. Good luck to you in dealing with this in your life.
