    Hi Gumshoguy,
My first post was in response to the article Wolf posted. My second one was addressed to you and third was addressed to Wolf; I didn’t realize that I had to be more specific than that.
Of interest is my post obviously showed my disdain for the article and you responded quickly to question my statement. Scott O, who I imagine based on what he wrote believes than anyone who disagrees with him is a commie liberal, wrote some pretty harsh stuff gets no response or referencing of forum etiquette.
I guess that it is very hard to be a moderator, tasked with making sure forum rules are followed, and to also be involved with strong opinions in the threads – where do you draw the line from being a moderator and using your voice to keep us in line to using your power to squash others opinions. It has to be a very hard job – no coyness intended as you have supported my thoughts on a different thread.

To Scott O: my dad served in WW2, received 2 purple hearts and a bronze star for calling in artillery on his own position when it was being over run. He also received the Legion of Honor from France for his role in helping to drive the Nazi’s out of their country. That doesn’t make my dad’s service better or more important than yours or mean that his opinion has more power. Everyone who has served did so that we can all voice our opinions without fear of reprisals from government or others. While disagreement is expected and helps us think through our beliefs and hopefully hear others sides, just because I disagree with the article doesn’t make me a commie liberal – far from it, I’m actually a registered republican. But that’s what happens a lot on these forums; people disagree and instantly get labeled a liberal or a commie. The hatred is palpable.

Wolf – I think in some ways we agree and I look forward to your next sasquatch post. I’ll probably stay away from your off topic ones as it seems that alternate opinions are not acceptable by some here.

    MOD NOTE from Knobby

Gunshoguy responded to you here as a participant and you’ve thrown the word “moderator” back a couple of times to bash him for disagreeing with something. Moderating for rules infractions and disagreeing with someone as a participant are not the same; so, please stop the pithy personal diatribes and focus on what you would like to put across.

    Thanks Wolf.
I served in the US Army, Infantry so I understand about people willing to give their life to protect their families or to the freedom we love. You didn’t know that so I take no offense to your suggestion that I might not.
I, too, am disgusted by what is going on in our society – mostly the hatred part but also the corruption. So when I see an article that helps spread this hatred it makes me want to say something. You did ask for members opinions “Hmmmm… crapola or truth? I’d be interested in your thoughts… who is this Hal Turner bloke?”
The article which states that putin gave trump intercepts of ammunition against his possible enemies is of a conspiratorial nature that was reminiscent of the russian bot articles that country posted on social media sites and other places in it’s effort to effect our last presidential election – you know, a different “powerful interest” group. If you don’t think so, I guess we can just reflect back on your previous posts and understand that you have some type of admiration for russia and take it with a grain of salt.
I respect that you think I have my head in the sand – I don’t mean for it to be. While you may suggest that the left is controlling the media (I don’t necessarily disagree) in it’s efforts to take control, I would counter that with “and so is the right!”. If you don’t think that the right wing media is pushing a specific agenda with misinformation, disinformation and outright lies also, then maybe your head is in the sand next to mine. It’s all about power and money and you can bet fox news, breitbart and all the other right wing media outlets love it when they can get some real good hatred going – it means more money!
In my opinion, I would wish we all use our best judgement when encountering any story, political conspiracy ones as well as sasquatch ones.
Speaking of Sasquatch, would anyone agree that Wes had two of his best shows on this past weekend? It usually takes me 2-3 nights to listen to the entirety of a show but I couldn’t stop Friday nights one until I heard the whole thing.

    Hi Gumshoguy,
While supposedly, everyone can post a remark to a discussion thread, as long as it is clean, I find it telling that a counter point is attacked by a specific moderator. I didn’t use foul language. Or maybe you just want “yes men” members who don’t question.

“Anyone here speaking Russian that you know of? You made that statement so it requires a response but sometimes that is done by making logical extensions of the argument to see where it would lead if true.”
Actually, a logical extension of the posts from Wolf might make one wonder. Please see: http://sasquatchchronicles.com/topic/off-topic-war-nope-political-theatre/

Don’t get me wrong, I think Wolf posts some really amazing stuff concerning sasquatch. That’s why I read his posts.

While most of us, I hope, wish to have this topic taken seriously, I seriously doubt that will happen when what should be a legitimate sasquatch research platform is inundated with conspiracy nonsense. Yep, that’s my opinion and I wish Wes would reconsider his decision.
I’m sure you will attack me again but that’s ok.

When did Sasquatch Chronicles become a russian bot site?
Please, while Wolf stated that he wasn’t sure if this was true, he knows there are some who long for the conspiracy angle, dream of deep state evil and are in rapture when they hear stories of government cover-ups. Get some help – please!

Thanks to everyone for their input on this question. Steven J – you really have done a lot of research in this area and your suggestions are very helpful. I too think that people often don’t take enough care when placing their cams and that could be a primary reason animals avoid them. I also appreciate the lesson on how the cam works – especially the passive detection part. The article from the physics forum was a little over my head – I have a M.Ed. but it is in exercise physiology; I think I need one in electrical engineering.
Knobby the article of the feeding station was very interesting and seems to support the idea that Sasquatches can sense emf fields being emitted from a cam.
I did contact the people from The Trail to Bigfoot, as Pam suggested, and received this back from Chris:
“Yes, I tried it about 3 years ago. The animals will get very close to the camera. We also recorded sounds of a very large something coming in and staying but avoided the camera.”
I can’t actually say their answer was conclusive. I think maybe more information is needed.

Knobby – here is the link again; I don’t know how to make it clickable?
    https://www.hecsllc.com/downloads/research-EMF-Blocking-TheodoreWNetter.pdf

Chriss422 – flooding the area with emf might also disguise the camera. I like the out of the box thinking.

I should also post that the “study” I linked was produced by a company that sells emf shielding clothing so I guess we have to consider the source.

Thanks Steven J – I’m just wondering if anyone has tried it as the researcher on the show seemed to have amazing “luck” capturing on video animals that typically avoid being videoed.
I’m just trying to think this thru and I appreciate your thoughts. As far as “evidence” goes that they sense or avoid EMF, I haven’t heard of anyone actually checking into this. But couldn’t you also speculate (since that is all we can do unless you and Wes DO have one in your garage) that the sasquatch CAN sense EMF and that is why they avoid being captured on trail cams or why putting up trail cams drives them off – as some have stated.
You are correct – Placing the emf shielding material around the device would leave the lens and light source open but then they wouldn’t “sense” that until they stepped in front which would trigger the device. Maybe?
Maybe a Sasquatch would go near an emf emitting power-line or transformer as they can see around it and it’s possible they expect this emf field from experience but out in the middle of the woods when they encounter a game trail cam or near a house when a homeowner puts one up, this new emf field would be out of place to them.
Again, I’ve been listening to this show for a few years and I always hear how Sasquatches avoid game cams and it has been suggested that it is because they “see” the light source. But last night when I saw this researcher place a hood over his cam, leaving open just the front and he caught amazing video, it just made me wonder maybe their is a plausible reason why. Like when the eye doctor posted how he believes that Sasquatches eye’s can seem to glow because of the rod/cone ratio and the size of the pupil opening, he gave a plausible reason why some see something more than eye shine.
I’m NOT saying they can sense EMF; I’m just saying “what if…” and wondering if anyone has tried using the material – maybe someone will try it and actually get a good picture or maybe someone will try it and not get anything which could prove your point.

I would agree – I think they call it “bigootery” – the act of making money off of Bigfoot. Not saying it is wrong just that bigfoot (and even ghosts) have become money making areas more than ever. At the two conferences I attended, the vendor area is the biggest thing I have every seen and it is crowded with people buying/selling everything from videos, posters, bigfoot crossing signs, clothing, jewelry, pins, patches, sculptures, carvings, art and of course, books – lots and lots of books. I myself bought a beautiful blown up picture of Patty looking back over her shoulder-very clear picture. I also bought Meldrum’s bigfoot pamphlet, some pins and a Ohio Grassman t shirt. The lodge gift shop is in on it too – they have tons of Bigfoot stuff as well. I get the purpose and as long as I’m entertained, I’m sort of ok with it however, I also wouldn’t mind learning more about the creature, specific techniques to research, equipment usage lessons, audio techniques, like how to differentiate known animal sounds from possible creature sounds. There are a ton of things that could be included in a conference that would help the newbie get involved but typically, it is about someone peddling their stuff.
There is even a movie out called Cultured Bigfoot which is about this to some extent – I think it is hilarious; someone making money off of other people making money off of Bigfoot.
I’ve already bought my ticket for the ECBRO conference in Fishersville, Va (I’m originally from VA) so I hope I can learn something at that conference. If you are in Ohio – check out Creature Weekend at Salt Fork Sate Park in Cambringe, OH – it is late October. I went to one a few years back and it was pretty good plus Bob Gimlin is the headliner.

m99 and everyone – thanks for the suggestion but I figured it out and I’m sorry to have bothered anyone. Somehow, I was listening to episode 396 (face of a demented monkey) instead of Sundays show so no mystery here just on the wrong page on my phone. I have one page open to the latest show and another opened to older shows as I have been re listening to them (3rd time thru for the older episodes). This was just my second time listening to this episode as it is fairly recent and I must have dropped off quickly the first time because I had no memory of the story as I listened this past Sunday. So now I know where to find the episode so I can finish the show and again, thanks everyone for their suggestions and sorry for the being a bonehead.

Good idea – but I’m logged in or I couldn’t use the forum. It doesn’t show up on my list – I have episode 415 as furry little things. No idea where the one I started went to. Feels like the twilight zone!
