The Alberta Screams video does go on to identify the source of the cries as a male and female lynx. No mystery here.

another snide and too clever moderator weighs in on this thread which started as Augustine L’s query about an ongoing problem with the format of this website. Attitude of moderators has not contributed to a solution or understanding of the problem and I don’t foresee progress in this area any time soon. Best of luck Augustine.

Don’t be sad Steve E…and don’t worry I won’t let the door hit me in the behind on the way out!

MOD NOTE: Hi Steve, unless you have something else I’m going to close this thread because I think we’ve had enough of her belligerence here …. I figure you can add something if you like, but that attitude isn’t conducive to friendly banter.

Steven J you got yourself quite worked up there. Calling me out of hiding, turning this thread into a pissing match and making foolish assumptions about me. You might have saved a shred of dignity if you’d stopped at the end of your first paragraph but you went on (and on) to disclose a nastiness that’s actually laughable. I have a few weeks left on this subscription so I will take the opportunity to correct a few of your misunderstanding(s).

You assume I have never been asked by Wes to be interviewed for this podcast site. Wrong

You assume I do not pursue the rigors of field work review of the many hours of audio I may collect or submitted by others for my review. Wrong

You assume I am a male. Wrong.

I am impressed with the flap and furor my postings have caused. I am
reassured that my decision to not renew my subscription is very much the correct course of action for me. I hope you get over it too Steven J

another demonstration of moderators’ bullying and opinion offerings inappropriate on a members’ paid forum. That’s two moderators showing me the door glad to see the back of me complete with snide and too clever input. Has it really come to this?

Just so ya know…..the credentials I come with include the better part of two decades of field work and time spent in group and solo expeditions exploring the topic of sasquatch. I’ve spent time with John Green, Jeff Meldrum, Cliff Barackman and even spent a weekend camp with Wes Germer (Olympic Project) and had discussions with all on the topic of Sasquatch. I’ve logged the winter hours doing online research and that includes discerning the credible and sound from the nonsense.

I have earned the right to have opinions and share thoughts on the subject. I am not soundly chastised by your comments on my
contribution to this forum. I am disappointed that the potential for this website, its forum and Wes’s dream are being choked by an awkward website design and poor moderating. I’m moving on give my regards to Wes

and the examples of what is wrong with Sasquatch Chronicles continue to present themselves. Thank you Knobby for your thoughtful input on this “Topical Topics” thread. Both you and GumShoeGuy have “moderator” titles present on your every posting. Both of you contribute heavily to most discussion lines. Too often it is personal opinion offered as fact or discounting input from other members as though you have the facts. Comes across as censorship when the only flow of discussion is restricted at this bottleneck.

I happen to be in a position to walk the talk. I will not renew my membership, nor will I recommend Sasquatch Chronicles as I wholeheartedly used to do. The flavor has changed over my years of membership and I no longer find it palatable.

and herein (above) is the attitude of particular moderator(s) which carries a tone and is imposed upon us all. I do not care for it and is a key reason I will not be renewing my membership.

    MOD NOTE:

… and herein (above) is the type of person who would impose their wishes over everybody else with the “if you don’t stop talking about what I don’t like I won’t renew my membership,” here let me offer some kleenex.

I’ve gone through a lot of the forum threads Jadescope, and I haven’t seen a whole lot in way of your contributions my friend. Whether you renew your membership is your decision but I’d suggest a Bigfoot Forum where you can dictate what and when somebody can speak freely and have fun for gosh sakes! – Gumshguy

I agree with Celia. There is less and less here for me on Sas.Chron. My membership expires in April and I will not be renewing. My time and efforts are better spent in the field and possibly contributing my observations and data to the developing body of knowledge about findings and evidence here in my locality, the places I can access and spend time.

I am interested in sharing my findings and developing ideas with others and I shall seek out those people and places (other websites). They do not seem to be here on Sasq. Chron. An updated web and forum format could let members tune into and possibly sustain specific lines of discussion but I do not hold hope that the many suggestions by members for ease of use and access to past information will ever be enacted.

I agree with Danny T. Too much moderator opinion imposed, particularly of late. Some participant comments are let to stand when rude and offensive (Glad Guy thread and Brad C’s outburst), some topics inappropriate for SC, but moderator in on the discussion so let stand (mod claimed topic had a life of its own). Too often the moderator’s input/opinion is written as fact. I’ve been a member for years now but am considering cancelling due to moderator bias and comments.

I am curious whether Brad S does any field research. Many of us who regard Nathan Reo as a legitimate researcher and reliable source are also out in the field using his information in our own work. Nathan’s energy levels are astounding and what he shares with us via his vids and passion has great value for many of us. I applaud all his efforts including his requests for funding his “go and see” campaign. Whether or not I or anyone actually sends him any money is entirely apart from his shared field work. I especially appreciate the fact that he does not feel the need to carry killing weapons.

knobby says: I’m not enthralled by a fictional account of the holy grail of sasquatch evidence. I suppose I don’t like the genre of fictionalizing real encounters.

I must agree. My gut reaction to your fictional writing efforts was an emphatic “oh no!”……..as a field researcher and many years into it I work hard at trying to make sense, patterns, links and contacts that are reliable and committed to finding out as much truth as is available about Sasquatch. I try to weed out untruth and mistruth (somewhere in there is the hoaxer) to glean the nuggets that we can count on as knowledge. I cringe at the thought of mixing any of the accounts/tales/legends that have be recounted and amassed within what I consider the existing body of knowledge (BFRO reports, Sasquatch Chronicles info, John Green’s works, Olympic Project, Meldrum, Bindernagel to source but a few) with any type of fictionalization.

That said, there is a whole world of fiction readers (and I am an avid one, but make mine a murder mystery)……who may make you the next bestselling fiction writer…..best o’ luck.

Duane, you didn’t mention what the budget is so don’t know if this fits within but I use a Panasonic DS620. I did a lot of online research before I purchased and have been very happy with it for 3 years. Easy to use and long life (overnight) on the recharge. I run results through the free AUDACITY program for visual spectrogram which saves having to listen to 8 hours live review. Good luck, mj

I am uncomfortable with this topic and discussion on this Sasquatch Chronicles forum. There might be a more appropriate site for this topic somewhere on the internet but I question the relevance of it here. So very negative.

Ben H, thanks, I believe you’ve succinctly stated the ultimate legal impact Todd Standings’ latest court actions will make on society and the world of sasquatch. I’ve watched TS with great interest (and the sasquatch world’s response) for well over a decade. TS has put his stuff out there for a few years before I started looking into the online resources/information in a serious way.

Over this time I’ve seen nothing to convince me that his fieldwork results (experiences, video, images) is in any way a hoax. I’ve watched TS, however, repeatedly mishandle his offerings. Seems a long time ago he built a dream heavily invested in fame and fortune as a one man show. He believes in himself and his work and his dream. So sad that the his passion and dream did not hold up well under the vicious attack(s) of the sasquatch community (the early days of online comments/opinion/insult).

With his repeated “come backs”……his passion comes off more like a spoiled sport than a credible researcher. Again, I think it comes from his poorly executed one-man showmanship. I have not seen this latest video yet. I will remain open to all TS’s offerings and hope it will be made in a less cringe-worthy way, or at least be ready to be uncomfortable with TS’s “way”.

Latest example is the news item about TS’s legal action being taken in British Columbia gives description as TS, a resident of Golden, BC. Another news item outlines the plans have for TS to launch the same lawsuit in alberta. As far as I know TS lives in/near Calgary, Alberta. This makes the whole affair suspect for intent and legality. Again, one-man show and looking shady in the way he’s choosing his actions. Maybe he needs a handler.
