ParticipantI live in the area. I don’t know of any good spots to look for Bigfoot but if you travel here check out the Smith River. It is California’s largest undammed river. It is absolutely gorgeous and would make a good consolation prize if you don’t find what you are looking for in the woods!

This is an article about my bio-physics professor that would give talks about “crack-pot” science.

ParticipantIn 1999 my friends and I took a roadtrip through northern AZ and southern Utah. We decided to take a “short cut” which turned out to be a desolate road where we eventually had to drive up the side of a giant plateau. While we were on a flat, straight, strech of road we all looked to our left (I was in the rear driver side seat). I know we probably had music on and that my friends old car was making a bunch of noise but we heard nothing besides ourselves as we all turned to see an unmarked jet flying next to us. The “jet” was completely gray and flying at our speed (50 or 60) about 150 ft away at about eye level. As soon as we all turned, it took off into the sky and was out of sight in seconds. Again, we didn’t hear a thing and there were not identifyning marks on aircraft that we could see. I imagine whoever was flyin it had a good laugh seeing our dumbfounded faces.

ParticipantWhen I was about 10 years old I lived on 40 acres about an hour northeast of Flagstaff, AZ. It was summer time and I was not in school. My dad had taken our only vehicle into town to go to work as a long haul truck driver. My mom and I were without transportation for the week. Our house had giant windows and since we had no neighbors, we didn’t have curtains either. One night my mother and I notice lights through our north facing kitchen window (FYI: don’t build your kitchen facing north if you live somewhere where it freezes, frozen pipes all winter long). The lights were at the end of our 1/4 mile driveway and at the top of small rise. The lights were about a dozen white orbs bouncing around with one another like lazy bumblebees, except every few seconds one would fly away at an incredible speed and disappear almost instantly. Others were zipping in just as fast and you would think they would collide with the other orbs but they went from looking like falling stars into bouncing balls in a split second. We went upstairs to get a better look and to try to see how far away they really were but from the upstairs window the horizon went on forever and it was hard to judge the distance. My mom said, “Maybe if we stop watching them, they will go away.” The rest of the time we lived there I would crawl on the floor past the kitchen window at night because I felt like I was being watched. Living in the desert was intense, this is just one of many wierd experiences living in AZ.
