ParticipantThanks Steven! I’m getting ready to calve out over 250 first calf heifers this coming spring. It keeps me busy now taking care of them and preparing to calve them out. For sixty days next spring I’ll only be able to sleep for a couple of hours at a time around the clock.

Participantm99, I was listening to this song and it reminded me of the story of your “cowgirl in the sand” and your ex boyfriend. Thought maybe you’d enjoy it so I’ll post it. Hope you do enjoy it.
My subscription here cancels tomorrow and I don’t think I’ll renew it. Lots of other things I need to focus on that I need to get really busy doing without any distractions.

Just like an old friend, kinder than expected
That Cadillac came and gave our girl a ride
Loss has no end, it binds to our connection
We don’t speak of it, we don’t even tryIf you could help me to share the trouble
But you’ve got burned and then you, then you can help me
And in our time together, her memory will ever
Shine like golden embers in the nightI miss the old hens when she used to sing
The sparrows spread their mortal wings
Now they’ve all lighted with the silence of strings
Like notes on the pages, she breathed life into all thingsIf you could help me to share the trouble
But you’ve got burned and then you, then you can help me
And in our time together, her memory will ever
Shine like golden embers in the nightJust like an old friend, reach out to me
Bathe me in the light of understanding
Try to help me to share the trouble
But you’ve got burned and then you, then you can help me
And in our time together, her memory will ever

Participantchris422…..”Hey Frank. How are you doing?”
I’m doing fine Chris. I have lots of work to do and that keeps me busy. I haven’t followed this thread but look in here once in a while. When I clicked on this thread I saw that a video had been taken down and I was curious as to what it was. I thought there was truth in it and I commented on it and I don’t really have anything further to say about it.
I listened to the interview of Victor Davis Hansen that Knobby posted a link to and then looked to see what else he had to say in his writings. I’m not buying all he’s selling.
How are you doing Chris? You used to post some pretty good videos that had a lot of truth in them. As I recall some of them had to much truth and their were complaints.
The last time I clicked on this thread Shannon D had put up a video on the election that I thought was pretty good. I think it was on a youtube channel called “Black Pilled”.

ParticipantGSG…” Let me you ask now how did extrapolate my post was somehow directed toward you? Where did that come from?”
There were quotation marks around it but no indication of who made that statement and it followed my post so that is why I asked if it was directed at me.

ParticipantGSG is your big bird post above directed at me? Are you implying you’re watching me and may take me in to a court of law for some reason? I really don’t understand your post above and I’d like you to explain it.

ParticipantWe have an enemy within this country that every day and in every way is trying to silence those who point out who they are and what they’re up to. The censorship is pretty blatant on youtube for all to see. Those who speak up with too much truth will come under attack from the enemy that is within. They have a lot of power and they won’t give it up easily.

ParticipantI had seen part of that video before in one of Dennis Wises documentaries. This country is not the one the founders gave us. Ben Franklin when asked what kind of government we would have, said “a republic if you can keep it”.
I believe we’re slowly being turned in to a communist nation with a corrupt government that thumbs it’s nose at the constitution and the rich and powerful don’t seem to have to obey the laws. There is pornography and every sick perversion promoted in print and movies every day that goes against what’s christian. This country is also being flooded with third world invaders that don’t care a bit about what a bunch of old dead white men wrote when they gave us the constitution for the United States.
I’ve posted information on books written by investigative journalists, also video documentaries that people could watch or read that would help them see what’s happening to this country but I doubt anyone has ever looked in to them. One of them was a book written by Miron Dolot “Execution by Hunger” because what he saw first hand in Ukraine is slowly coming about here. It’s the same ones who brought communism to Russia and Ukraine that have gained control of the banks, media and government in this country.
I’ve mostly stopped trying to wake people up to what’s going on because no one wants to hear it. They’d rather listen to the liars in our government and lying main stream media. History repeats and what’s happened in other places in the past is happening here now.
The guy in the videos language is rough but for the most part he’s right in what he says in my opinion. There are good people in this country but they are being silenced by those who want to destroy this nation.

ParticipantKnobbey……”Okay Frank, you got it, you can decided for yourself. ben h please post it again. I will not delete it.”
Thanks! I like hearing what enemies say because sometimes they will tell you the truth when your friends won’t.

ParticipantWhat was the video Ben h posted? I’m curious because I’d like to decide for my self whether it has any truth to it.

Participant“Please Don’t Bury Me”
.
“John Prine”
.
.
Woke up this morning
Put on my slippers
Walked in the kitchen
And died
And oh, what a feeling!
When my soul
Went through the ceiling
And on up into heaven, I did ride
When I got there, they did say
“John, it happened this way
You slipped upon the floor
And hit your head”
And all the angels say
“Just before you passed away
That these were the very last words
That you said”
“Please don’t bury me
Down in that cold, cold ground
No, I?d rather have ’em cut me up
And pass me all around”
“Throw my brain in a hurricane
And the blind can have my eyes
And the deaf can take both of my ears
If they don’t mind the size”
“Give my stomach to Milwaukee
If they run out of beer
Put my socks in a cedar box
Just to get ’em out of here”
“Venus De Milo can have my arms
Look out!… I’ve got your nose
Sell my heart to the junk man
And give my love to Rose”
“But please don’t bury me
Down in that cold, cold ground
I?d rather have ’em cut me up
And pass me all around”
“Throw my brain in a hurricane
The blind can have my eyes
And the deaf can take both of my ears
If they don’t mind the size, oh man!”
“Give my feet to the footloose
Careless, fancy free
And give my knees to the needy
Don’t pull that stuff on me”
“Hand me down my walking cane
It?s a sin to tell a lie
Send my mouth way down south
And kiss my ass goodbye”
“But, please don’t bury me
Down in that cold, cold ground
I?d rather have ’em cut me up
And pass me all around”
“Throw my brain in a hurricane
And the blind can have my eyes
And the deaf can take both of my ears
If they don’t mind the size, that’s right”November 18, 2018 at 12:55 pm #139339Frank T
ParticipantMerle Haggard had a lot of songs I used to like and I played and sang some of them at dance halls and bars years ago. I very seldom ever pick up a guitar anymore and it seems I’ve forgotten most of what I used to know.
m99, I agree this place does kind of “take the cake”. I’ve been pretty entertained by a lot of whats been posted in the past.
Connie Dover has been one of my favorites to listen to. This is a song she performed at the cowboy poetry gathering in Elko, NV.

“I’m Going To The West”
.
.
In this fair land, I’ll stay no more
Here labor is in vain
I’ll seek the mountains far away
And leave the fertile plain
Where waves of grass in oceans roll
Into infinity
I stand ready on the shore
To cross the inland sea
I am going to the WestChorus
You say you will not go with me
You turn your eyes away
You say you will not follow me
No matter what I say
I am going to the West
I am going to the WestI will journey to the place
That was shaped by heaven’s hand
And I will build for me a bower
Where angels’ footprints mark the landWhere castle rocks in towers high
Kneel to valleys wild and green
All my thoughts are turned to you,
My waking hope, my sleeping dream
I am going to the WestAnd when sun gives way to moon
And silver starlight fills the sky
In the arms of these last hills
Is where I’m bound to lieWind, my blanket, earth, my bed
My canopy, a tree
Willows by the river’s edge
Will whisper me to sleep
I am going to the WestNovember 18, 2018 at 10:45 am #139334Frank T

“Who will comfort me”
.
.
The darkness now is lifting
Dawn blushes in the sky
It lays a spread of gold and red
And breathes a lullaby
To a thousand quiet creatures
Of earth and sky and stream
Who cannot know that paradise
Will one day be a dream
When the last wagon rolls along
And fades into the West
And cuts a trail of progress
Through a singing skylark’s nest
When the last woodland creature
Lifts her head to flee
And is snared by her protector
Lord, who will set her free?Chorus:
When the boundless spirit
Has no place to roam
The heart will sadly whisper
This world is not my home
When the sweep of wind along the grass
Bows down to destiny
When the last bright star has fallen
Lord, who will comfort me?When the last prairie flower
Gives up her yellow bloom
When the high cathedral skies
Give way to crowded rooms
When we parcel heaven
And fence eternity
When the wildness is all tamed and torn
Don’t let me live to seeWhen the last campfire flickers
And is laid to righteous rest
When the Ones who wandered without fear
Are cursed who once were blessed
When all our deeds of glory
Are laid in front of Thee
When you ask what man hath wrought
Don’t rest Your gaze on meNovember 18, 2018 at 10:16 am #139333Frank T
ParticipantDear m99, thanks for posting the Johnny Cash recording of that song and the lyrics. It’s always been one of my favorites too. I also hope they’re not chasing the devils herd across the skies. As the last two lines in this song below by Colter Wall say…..
“Fling a handful of roses o’er his grave
With a prayer to God for his soul to save”
.
.
“Bury Me Not On The Lone Prairie”
.
“Oh bury me not on the lone prairie”
These words came slow and mournfully
From the pallid lip of a youth who lay
In his dying bed at the close of day“Oh bury me not…,” and his voice failed there
But they took no heed to his dying prayer
In a narrow grave, just six-by-three
They buried him there on the lone prairie“Oh bury me not on the lone prairie
Where the owl of night hoots mournfully
And the blizzard beats and the winds blow free
O’er his lonely grave on the lone prairieAnd the cowboys now as they roam the plain
For to marked the spot where his bones were lain
Fling a handful of roses o’er his grave
With a prayer to God for his soul to saveNovember 16, 2018 at 5:30 pm #139266Frank T
