Hello friends. New here. My family had a cabin in northeastern Quebec in the 60s-70s. At 13 I could take our canoe across the lake 3 miles to a remote point surrounded by national reserve, where I would camp. I was literally reading the famous Teddy Roosevelt story in my tent by flashlight, when I heard something outside. I shined the light up to see what looked like a giant hand! But it was too big, and I thought maybe it was an owl that landed on my tent. Thing is, an owl would’ve punctured the cheap nylon, and it would’ve had to have been huge to have claws as big as I saw. I was frozen. I remember feeling fear so intense my heart was beating loud as a train. All of a sudden the ‘owl’ must have flown straight up because that’s what the shadow I was looking at did. Next I heard what could have been footsteps, but that also didn’t make sense. Sasquatch never seemed like a possibility. It was just a scary story from a place far away.
Or was it. I’ve had a few experiences here in the Ozarks that are pretty wild. Happy trails everyone.
