ParticipantI finally got around to downloading the app tonight and experienced the same problem as Mary Anne T. Installed the app, entered my login info and it takes me to the “no downloads” red page of doom that you can’t exit without closing the app.
So I did as suggested above. Deleted the app. Restarted my phone (Iphone 13 if that matters) and re-installed the app. This time after opening the app and entering my login everything seems to be working as it should. Hope that helps.

ParticipantAs humans we began to domesticate animals for specific purposes to offset our natural weaknesses. Riding horses allowed us to travel faster and longer and better work farmland with plows or pull heavy carts. Dogs helped us locate game, guard our property and herd livestock. Companionship certainly arose but not as primary reason for domestication. Early man was more concerned with facilitating basic survival than making furry friends.
Sasquatch, like other wild animals, are born perfectly suited to exist and thrive in their environments so they don’t really need to domesticate animals like we once did. They do just fine with their own superior natural physical abilities for the lives they lead.
That doesn’t mean the odd Bigfoot wouldn’t form some kind of bond with a lesser animal but it’s probably an anomaly. We certainly hear more reports of them killing animals for food or other reasons than befriending them.

ParticipantFree speech can get ugly. Another side-effect of freedom not quite understood in this age of the snowflake we’re living in.

ParticipantThe far left is doing everything it can to divide us so it can take power. As Gum pointed out they’re employing the same tactics Marxists always use. It’s amazing more people don’t recognize this and so many alleged conservatives don’t call them out along with the white supremacist idiots.

ParticipantI have to agree with Lou V that these videos damage the credibility of the BF community. Every dark shape in the woods is not a Sasquatch or Dogman. And for me the worst perpetrator of this kind of thing is Kirk Stokes who can seemingly walk out in the woods at any time and spot multiple BF’s and Dogmen that appear only as blobby shadows to the rest of us when he points them out on his blurry videos.
When someone gets a clear, discernible picture bring it forth but more blobs don’t help anything and probably do more harm than good when the non-believers you want to convince are going to dismiss them as ridiculous.

ParticipantI’ve always been interested in Sasquatch since I was a kid in the 70’s but I didn’t really start to believe these creatures were truly real and so widespread until the last few years listening to encounters here and all the other evidence that has exploded with the growth of the internet.
But my belief is just belief based on the available evidence. I don’t KNOW these creatures exist because I’ve never had any direct experience myself. I think the chances are more likely than not but I can’t say so with 100% certainty they’re real until I actually encounter one or somebody produces some incontrovertible evidence.
Most of us here have an interest in Sasquatch whether we believe or not or we wouldn’t be here to begin with. But you have to keep in mind millions of people never think about Sasquatch in any kind of serious manner if they think of them at all and to a lot of these people the thought of them being real is ludicrous. So it’s not that hard to imagine someone with a mindset that won’t even accept the concept they could be real until they cross paths with one of these creatures.

ParticipantI’m one of those people that can’t stand him. He comes across as a complete con man. But that’s just my opinion. He may be totally legit. If he is it sure would surprise me though.

ParticipantI’m sure BF doesn’t like eating bits of eggshell anymore than the rest of us.

ParticipantI think Dogmen were most likely created in labs by men out of a desire to harness the use of a physically superior creature for our own ends. Most likely military ends. But other uses are certainly possible.

ParticipantRemember Bob Garrett’s torn up camp? I would say that roughly qualifies as a massacre and the powers that be didn’t have much trouble covering that one up.
IMO it’s going to take one of two things to convince most people on Sasquatch (some will never believe without personal experience.) First, of course, will be an indisputable body. But secondly, as cameras become ubiquitous everywhere even zipping around in remote areas video evidence may change a lot of minds. I’m not talking about one convincing bit of footage but lots of footage as all the security cameras, drones, go-pros and probably things we haven’t even seen yet start picking up these creatures.
More and more of our world is under constant video surveillance. Eventually even our stealthy friend Bigfoot won’t be able to completely avoid millions and millions of electric eyes. And when they start showing up regularly more people will start to believe.

ParticipantWhile certainly intelligent and capable of plenty of guile as evidenced by the complex manners in which they hunt and avoid us nosy humans, I would argue Sasquatch are primarily physical creatures and the most physically capable are usually going to dominate even it’s more clever troop mates.
Sasquatch aren’t humans. Weaker humans can become dominant (alphas) through the application of our brains. A Bruce Lee can learn Kung Fu to set him apart. We can use skills and tools to overcome those who might outdo us physically. There isn’t a whole lot of evidence bigfoot does this. And really why would they need to? They’re born with supreme strength, size, and speed. They don’t need tools or a lot of exotic skills because nature has given them more than enough natural abilities to thrive. It only makes sense that they would use their primal physical tools to determine the alpha of a troop. And thus that most often ends up being the biggest of the big guys unless they’re just too dumb to get out of their own way.

ParticipantI don’t know if they’re capable of laughter as we know it. But the accounts we hear show these creatures are highly intelligent at least compared to other wild animals and they display a wide range of emotions. If they can express anger and annoyance there’s no reason they shouldn’t have some manner of expressions for humor or joy.

ParticipantI would say a large part of the disparity in statistical lethal outcomes between rifles and handguns is a reflection of the types of encounters rather than pure ballistic differences. First of all, rifles are pretty rare in homicides. FBI stats show more people die each year from fist and feet than rifles. If someone picks up a rifle to kill someone chances are they’re experienced with it and they’re going to use it as the lethal instrument it’s intended to be. Whereas there are all kinds of idiots out there popping off at each other with handguns with no clue what they’re doing. Shooting sideways, not bothering to aim, or just pointing and squeezing the trigger as fast as possible. This is going to lead to poor shot placement and thus a smaller chance of killing. In other words, it isn’t the bullet’s fault if the shooter can’t put it where it needs to be.
There’s no question you want a rifle if you’re really serious about taking someone down. But you also don’t want to get hit with a hollowpoint .45acp, .357mag, or the right load .44mag in the hands of someone capable. Even today’s 9mm loads are much better than they used to be as man stoppers.

ParticipantI don’t want to be the one to tell bigfoot he throws like a girl.

ParticipantI think I would want a .458 Socom in an AR platform for a surprise, close range self-defense scenario with a Sasquatch. It’s ballistics are very close to 45/70 and you get the added bonus of putting more lead down range fast with semi-auto over like a lever action Marlin.
But really why would you be out in the woods with such a large bore rifle? The more likely scenario is you get caught out hunting and you have a deer rifle and maybe a sidearm, not something designed to take down a Cape Buffalo. In that case it’s probably going to boil down to luck. Luck that maybe it walks off or doesn’t charge and lets you back away. Or luck that you get off a quality shot that saves your life or at least leaves the beast with a nasty wound that cuts down it’s days among the living after it turns you into buzzard bait.
The idea of aiming for the mouth or throat sounds real good in theory. But man, if you can remain that cool with one of these hulks crashing down on you — well, I don’t know if I could pull that off and not to brag but I’m a damn good shot. It’s interesting to speculate but I pray I don’t ever have to find out.
