True story, a friend and I were driving from Midland and Mt.Pleasant a distance of 20 miles. Were about half way around 1 pm, 2 lane road at the time very few houses along that stretch when I saw a deer coming in front of us running with its head down.As I yelled out deer right, the driver looked right hit the breaks without locking the breaks. the deer ran into the back corner panel of the car head first, bounced backwards, got up ran around the back of the stopped car and just cleared a 4 foot fence about 30 feet off the side of the road.It was a doe that we both could tell was being chased and was about to collapse from exhaustion.I got out to see what damage it had done but looked back where it had came from knowing that it was running away from something and being chased.there was about 30 feet on the other side of the road clear of brush and as I stopped and looked in that direction ready to jump back into the car, but listened and heard a fast huff huff as if something was drawing breath but trying to keep quiet at the same time.I thought what could run a deer out like that? then got freaked out and jumped back into the passanger side and said hit it.My friend said whats up? and I said man that deer was about to be on the menue for something and I heard what ever it was in the woods. He asked me about the damaged and I told hin he had dent in the quarter panel from the deer hitting the quarter panel.I drive a lot at night and see deer grazing along on the side of the road a lot.You never know whats waiting in the ditch for them.
