Stacy thank-you for posting. A few questions. Are there disappearences in the area of the research area? What started the searching? Do you think/feel these Sasquatches are different or act different from the ones in other parts of the country? It’s interesting and frightening to hear on how many encounters seem to target women and children alone.
Again I’m glad you posted.
They talked about axes and knives. The key to me is the Sasquatches keep showing up when the women are alone. Don’t think it’s a coincidence.
It’s a sight specific to Wisconsin. Have no idea who they were.

I read this account years ago, but never forgot it. I don’t believe in many of the things posted on this paranormal website but I feel this encounter is real.This encounter is posted on W-Files.com. It’s a website devoted to a many different paranormal topics that happen in the state of Wisconsin. If this encounter is true, it would be terryifing. I was never involved in the “investigation” and I have never heard or read of any follow up. The reason I remember the encounter is because this was one of the first aggressive encounters I ever read about. Plus, trying to find anyone willing to say they had an encounter in Wisconsin is rare. Again, I don’t have any follow up on this encounter, but it seems believable to me. The other reason I’m posting this is I’m hoping one of the three people who went through this would come forward with more details. I’ve always felt more happened. Curious if there were more encounters in this location.
Terrorized by ‘Big Foot’, say three Racine youths
“When the story comes out, everyone in Racine is going to think we’re crazy,” maintains Patty Brehm.
Patty, Kim and Dave Brehm say they saw a creature – tall, white and hairy – that looked like the legendary Big Foot monster, and it trapped them in a cabin south of Stevens Point for two days.
That’s what happened, the three Racine youths claim, and they are sticking by their story whether people think they are crazy or not.
Patty, 19, and Kim, 15, are the daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Rolly Brehm, 3028 Valley Forge Drive. Their father is a local real estate agent. Dave, 15, is their cousin, the son of Marion Brehm, Racine.
The three had gone on Aug. 6 to a cabin owned by Dave’s mother for what they thought was going to be a relaxing weekend vacation. It turned into what they said was a terrifying experience and a nightmare caused by a mysterious creature that would not let them alone.
An incredible sequence of events started that Thursday.
When Patty, Kim and Dave arrived at the A-frame cabin near Plainfield, they unpacked their belongings and that evening walked through the woods to a nearby pond.
“We heard these deep growls in the woods and we couldn’t figure out what they were made by,” said Dave. “Whatever it was, it yelled about 10 times in a row.”
The trio passed it off as some kind of animal and returned to their cabin for the night.
Friday morning, Kim arose before the other two. She went outside the cabin and was sitting on a bench when she thought she saw something watching her from the woods that surround the cabin.
“I watched it for about ten minutes. At first I thought it was my imagination,” she remembers. “Then I thought it might be an Indian because it stood there so still.”
But when the creature started moving towards her, she ran crying into the cabin. “I told David what I saw and he said was crazy and to go back to sleep,” Kim said.
She told herself it was her imagination and tried to dismiss it. But later that morning she saw the creature again – and this time close up.
“I had gone down the outside stairs and when I got to the bottom I saw it standing next to the car,” Kim said. She estimates “it” was only 20-30 feet away.
Kim desribes the thing as “at least seven feet tall, with huge shoulders.” She said it was covered from head to toe with thick, white hair which was “slick, not shaggy.”
“The eyes were like deep black hollows in its head and you couldn’t see any nose or mouth. I was the only one who saw its eyes,” she recalls.
Kim, crying, ran up the stairs and into the cabin once again. “They thought I was nuts, crazy.” Patty next went out onto the deck that surrounds the cabin. “I looked down and it was standing next to the car, looking up at me,” Patty said.
She went back into the cabin and Dave came out, but the creature was gone.
Now that two of them had seen the thing, the three decided to call the police. A police officer came to the cabin questioned them, looked around, and saw nothing.
“The police thought we were a bunch of crazy kids, but I think the officer who came out believed us. We were scared,” Kim said.
Friday night, after dark, the creature appeared again. “I seen it at the edge of the woods and I could see the upper half of its body,” said Dave. “When I saw it, it kind of bent sideways, then it ducked down and shot out towards the house. I went in and locked the door.”
That night Patty, Kim and Dave claim they heard noises outside and downstairs in the garage area.
“We heard crashes and doors slamming and we didn’t sleep all night,” Kim remembers. “We tried to convince ourselves we weren’t crazy.”
Finally, when daylight came, the three were calm enough to sleep. In the early afternoon, they woke up. Kim says she saw the creature again early Saturday afternoon while she was putting make-up on outside the cabin. Later that afternoon, Dave had gone for a walk when the girls claim they heard the creature outside the cabin.
“We heard clawing on the outside of the house and pounding, so we ran out while it was on the other side, jumped in the car and got Dave. When we got back, nothing was there,” Kim said.
When the sun went down Saturday night, the three youths decided to lock the doors. “As soon as it turned dusk, we were locked in until Monday morning. It just terrorized us, like,” Kim said.
Dave said the three could see the shadow of an animal walking back and forth in the light from the cabin.
It was at that time that he thought he saw a second creature approach.
“The second one came up the stairs. I yelled at it. You couldn’t put what I said in the paper, but you can say I cussed at it. We were sick of it.”
Dave says that when he yelled, he heard the creature break one of the garage door windows. “It could’ve gotten in. There was nothing stopping him,” Dave said.
The youths did not have a camera in the cabin so they could take no pictures. In fact, “We didn’t want to see it. We were scared,” said Kim.
But the creature or creatures continued to stay around the cabin, looking in the windows, pacing back and forth in view of the cabin and making noises outside.
“We stayed up at night and fell asleep during the day,” Kim said. “Sunday night was worst. It got very bold. It was patrolling us, like.”
The Brehm cabin has living quarters upstairs with sliding glass doors that look out onto the deck. “It came right up onto the deck,” Kim said, “and we could see it walking back and forth in front of the sliding windows. We sat there on the couch with axes and hatchets and kitchen utensils for weapons.”
The Brehm youths stayed awake all Sunday night. When morning arrived, the creatures left.
When Patty, Kim and Dave arrived home with their story, their family was unbelieving. Rolly Brehm recalls: “I questioned each of them over and their story was the same. I was skeptical at first but I saw fear in their eyes. Kim had to sleep with her mom the night they got back and from what I understand from Dave’s mom, Dave has had nightmares about it.”
Rolly, who had recently recovered from a heart attack, decided he would go up to the cabin to look around. He enlisted the help of a friend, Gordy Laren, owner of Gordy’s Wheel Alignment, 1107 10th St.
The two men went up to the cabin Saturday, Aug. 15. They saw no creature but found evidence they say supports the story of the creature.
The men found two sets of human-like tracks in mud next to the pond near the cabin. They made a plaster cast of one of the prints. “The rest of the tracks were in the water,” Laren said.
The casting shows a foot about 11 inches long with what appears to be six toes. The heel is relatively narrow.
“From the way the front of the foot dug in, I would say the animal walks with its weight forward and I would say it weighs about 165 pounds,” Laren said.
Laren and Brehm also found two hairs they think might be from the creature. They plan to have the hairs analyzed.
Brehm and Laren said they do not want the exact location of the cabin known.
“If people find out where it is you’ll have guys from Milwaukee and Madison and Racine up there with their guns and their six packs shooting at anything that looks like it will turn white,” Laren said.

Personally I’ve never bought the idea they’re these kind creatures. Never seen one,I believe I felt their presence, that was enough.

Looks like a cougar. My Aunt and Uncle are avid hunters, or were, and my Uncle claimed Cougar where in Wisconsin for years. This was way before the Wisconsin DNR admitted to them being there.

What I believe was happening at my Grandmothers house was a Sasquatch was coming into our yard to eat from the fruit trees, eat meat or was interested in the deer hanging in our garage during hunting season, and eat from my grandparents garden. It seemed weird things would happen outside during August and September especially. There were many times when my son and I would build campfires in the backyard we’d get a feeling something was watching us. When this happened we’d douse the fire and go inside. Something banged on the house. Fruit trees, mainly apple would be stripped on one side. My grandma would complained about a smell worse than a skunk, we did have skunk, but she said it was worse. My Grandfather told me to never go into the swamp because of “things” in it. There were kids at school who claimed to have seen a “wildman” in the swamp in our in our community. In a neighboring community bigfoot casts were done in the 1950’s. My brother woke me up from a sleep and said something screamed underneath his window. The best evidence is my son said a “creature” was looking at him through a window. He came into my area of the living room and was frightened. At the time I made the mistake of thinking it was a nightmare. The other incident was when our neighbor called frightened and said a “big man” was watching her vacuum through their sliding doors on their deck and left a dead racoon. I know not one of these things means we had a Sasquatch coming into the yard, but all put together it indicates something was happening. I felt the need to post this because I can’t encourage others to post without at least saying why I put this post up again. A note, my grandfather was a retired butcher and he’d cut deer and cow for the farmers and hunters in the area. In our three car garage he would hang and mark the deer her would need to cut. My feeling, only feeling, is one came around while he was cutting. During deer season he would be up late cutting deer. I would help in the mornings grind and trim. This is speculation. The reason I mention this is this would bring in a Sasquatch during the fall of the year.
One of the reasons I like listening to the show is because I feel Wes is really trying to help people. This is somewhat rare in any sector of our world today. I feel there are many people in the midwest who have seen them and are more frightened to mention it than other areas. I’m hoping this can be a place were someone can post their encounter and get some healing or closer. If you are from the midwest or close, you had an encounter, post it. If you don’t want to post it Email Wes. Just tell him, I live in such and such and this is what happened. If you’ve listened to any of the other encounters on the show Wes isn’t going to make fun of you, and most of the people listening to this show won’t. There is always bad apples in a bunch, but don’t let that deter you from those good apples who will encourage you.
