ParticipantNot sure if the aborigines have any folklore about it but ask ANY farmer in rural Australia and they’ll tell you about large cats that come and take their livestock.
I spent MANY a night at my cousins’ house in the country listening to horror stories, as recounted by older cousins who wanted to scare the crap out of me!

ParticipantOh wait – I’m watching it now and further on, after that, he does talk about it.

ParticipantI’m just watching this seminar as given by DP;
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CeT2FG88PIM
which is COMPELLING, btw, and he references seeing a BF himself. When an audience member asks him about it (around 1:44:00), he kind of dodges the question and answers something else entirely(something he actually does time and again in this video! – very annoying!).
Maybe Wes could pin him down on this?

ParticipantNot to mention opening up the government to multi-billion(trillion?) dollar liability lawsuits if it can be proven these creatures were responsible for deaths in national parks and the relevant authorities knew but did nothing to either forewarn or protect.
Don’t be fooled – there’s enough money at stake here to bankrupt an already weak US economy!

ParticipantEconomic/trade sanctions. Who knows what else behind the scenes?

ParticipantHey Mark – Yeah he was a southern guy – very understated but when he spoke, I really tried to listen to him as he usually had something good to say.
As I said above, I don’t really miss them as it’s been six months since the last show anyway. It coincided with me wanting to go in and clean up my ipod download list anyway and I could delete the show. Besides that, their cynicism had started to get to me and I now MUCH prefer Wes’s laid back style and how he doesn’t make fun of his guests.
Flute players deserve whatever they get!

ParticipantPS – I just read Brian’s blog about finishing the show. Can’t say I mind too much as it HAS been six months since the last show, anyway. They grew to be, as Brian himself mentions, overly self-referential and quite dismissive of the subject, which surprised me then and confuses me now, since Brian also stated he wants to get more into the whole research thing – maybe treat the subject with more seriousness when doing your shows, rather than let that annoying Scott do his funny voices and promote his latest hiking video?
One thing that bugged me as time went on with TBS podcast was also the way Brian and Paul especially treated other commentators and researchers as clueless rubes – it’s actually endemic of a lot of BF commentators (other than Wes), who tend to think they have ALL the information about the subject and anybody else is just making sandcastles in the dirt.
I’ll be off to other podcasts then where people treat the subject with a seriousness and validity and don’t spent 3/4 of their podcast discussing everything OTHER THAN bigfoot!

ParticipantMark – has Brian Brown actually stated he’s no longer doing his show?
I recall them before having six months between episodes, which, I must admit pissed me off to no end! That’s part of the reason I came to THIS show which, despite being rocky at the start (Sorry Wes, you’ve actually said as much yourself on previous shows), is now a GREAT show and I LOVE the content and am happy to pay the fee per year, since the regularity is something I VERY much enjoy.
And Mark – yes, I agree. I grew to loathe hearing Scott on TBS – he was a self-promoter and an obnoxious loudmouth and I swear, every time he mis-pronounced paradolia as para-DOI-lia, I wanted to reach into my ipod and strangle him.
If the show is actually over, I must admit, I will NOT miss hearing him again!

ParticipantThanks all – this is THE FIRST I’ve heard ANY inkling about what happened. I’m not sure if Wes addressed her departure on a show and I never heard it but, from my point of view, Shannon was simply gone one week and that was it.
I have to say, I’m STILL NOT SURE exactly what happened with Wes and Will. It’s not that I’m chasing gossip, I’d just like it if somebody, ANYBODY could do a quick run down on what exactly took place. Shannon seemed really nice and sweet and I was actually worried that she might have suffered similar treatment as Bob Garrett did and been warned off by intimidation.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

ParticipantStroud had the recent six (?) part special shows where he went pretty much on his own and investigated.

ParticipantTrust me, as an Australian watching that show and very far removed, they look kinda ridiculous!

ParticipantI completely agree. It wasn’t until I saw the ridiculous “Mountain Monsters” that I started to realize that there may actually be a misinformation program at work.
Those good old boys and bubbas are straight out of central casting and are doing their job of making the subject appear as ridiculous as possible.

ParticipantHear, hear!
You owe us Knobby!
Just kidding – but I’ve pulled up the sleeping bag, I’ve got the popcorn and am waiting by the fire for some great encounters!

ParticipantIs it wrong that I have nicknamed Matt Moneymaker, Karl Kashgrabber?
But in all seriousness – WTF was up with his hair on that last episode?!?!?

ParticipantIs it just me or is the idea of the dogman even creepier than sasquatch?
Maybe it’s because I kind of feel (incorrectly) that since squatches are apelike, they are more like us. Something that is basically a werewolf terrifies the stuffing out of me!!!!
