It’s common practice to do pre-emotive damage control by leaking YOUR VERSION of an event, photo etc. BEFORE the real info is released. People tend to believe what they hear first.

It’s possible they take the original, actual photos then photoshop them. Real+photoshop=fake. Then when you look for the real info you get all of the fakes muddying the water and disproving what could be real as all fakes.

Classic political warfare, effective for thousands of years.
