I know i was followed last aug while scouting for elk in colorado.
I saw tracks in the rain so i know itvhad to becright there somewhere.
It was thick there was grass in the timber waist high.
I pulled my 10mm glock out and called out to that ever was there.
    I waited and checked my 6 …nothing.
So i continued down the mountain.
When i got home I told my bro and he said…did you look up? No I did not look up in the trees. Never dawned on me it could have gone up a tree.

I actually had a federal park officer openly talk to me about where they were. She oh sorry they gave me directions where it was thought they hole up. This was a year and a half ago and 2 people I know were too chicken shit to go in there and spend the night.

This years elk hunt archery was an eye opener. I was near plataro resivour when I found tracks at 11 thousand feet. I was scouting elk which I did see.
I had a gps and a delorme inreach tracking device on me. I was so into the elk and being there all alone I found myself acting like I was in a patch of farm woods in iowa or illinois. The mtns are so unreal yiu forget one mistake can put you in a bad spot. I had no thought of bf till I seen the tracks. At that point I could tell the tracks were minutes old. I took out my glock 10mm and actually called out to what ever made the tracks. Btw I have never felt the need to unholster my weapon in the woods ..ever. I gotcthe hell out of there and was shook up to say the least. I am 100 percent sure it was following me.

It looks for sure to be the dogs now. I think that is beyond terrible as the girls was a friend to the dogs. Here you have to worry about the mt lions and your odd grizzly and of course the local sasquatch. I dont see many lose dogs here and a few have got lose and there are wanted posters up with details on the dogs. 2 dogs got lose in a spot about a mile from me …in the crags where they are still looking for a missing woman that vanished. Same area is a know sasquatch spot.

I have been involved in an almost fatal dog mauling of two teenage kids by a yellow lab.
I flew to maryland shock trauma in a md state police helicopter with one of the kids.
It looked like he was blown up by an ied in iraq.
Im a dog lover but never go for a walk without mace a knife and my 45 or 10mm.
One dog let alone a pack will kill you in minutes. I will not hesitate letting the air out of one of these wild dogs.
I wanted to buy a farm in sciota county ohio some years ago. Great land but close neighbor had about 20 mean looking dogs running lose.
I do not want to becin the biz of shooting wild dogs so i passed on the sale for that reason.
As for a bf attack it could be. Local le is not gone to bullhorn out that a wild ass primate is on the lose.
    Never never hike without protection.

Here in colorado people go missing all the time.
If you dont have a gps or tracking device yiu can get real turned around if you get off trail.
You will die here in these mtns quick if you are way back in and unprepared for a weather change.
I do think sq does snatch people if they kinda drop in their lap. Why not we are food for this thing.
And I bet it would eat your bones too as I have filmed black bears here eating deer bones.

Normal people live in the city.
Normal people go to the beach for vacation.
Normal people watch friends and cnn.
Normal people don’t go into the redneck woods in fear of rednecks like in deliverance.
Most of the population lives in cities. They don’t go hunting or fishing. Hunter numbers are on the down.
Schools don’t teach the civil war and kids areare more into cellphones than crickin or foggi or hunting where they mayrun across one of these things.
My boss a non hunter believes in bf and put it this way.
How many people hike or hunt or fish in the back country?
How many of those people go deep in the bush?
    How many go off trail?
Now maybe 5 out of every 100 hikers goes off trail.
So just the law?of large or small numbers shows one can exist with just a tiny bit of hide and seek.
City folk laugh at bf. Midwest people laugh at bf.
2 Midwest bow hunters here laughed at me last week when they saw the 10 mm Glock on my hip.
When they asked what’s that for? I said watch out for grizz and bf..then I just walked away. BTW no bear mace no sidearm and both had recurves.
They left the next day at 11 am per my trail cam I set up to over watch my camp. I wonder if they saw something cause elk were there cause I saw them.

Ok my take away. Bullets will kill them. Army 308 or 556 would be small arm weapon of choice. I have heard of the body parts in a tree but have never heard of a hunter killed stripped and balls cut off.
