I was away on business at the end of last week thru Saturday, working long hours. In my spare time, I went and re-listened to the Insider & Down the Rabbit Hole episodes. Really enjoyed them once again! I kind of wish there were more of those episodes, but I recall Wes’ episode with Dark Shadow not too long ago where he talked about the reason for not doing those type of shows again. I must say that I one thing that I do not miss was Mr. Jeving constantly interrupting the guests’ story trying to get his opinion heard.
I just reread this account, and he refers to his buddy as being a Native American. It is his buddy that talks about his forefathers having fought them. I would think that if anyone’s forefathers would have fought them, it would’ve been a Native American.
There is also a SC show with James Akins, former sheriff of Pike County Ga. Wes had him on the show to talk about the Elkins Creek cast with dermal ridges about a year ago.
Unless things have changed dramatically in two years that I was there (in Maine due to work related travel), I think that you would be surprised at how little money he is making off of admission to his museum. This is certainly not the Smithsonian.
Money or power. Everything falls into those two categories, though I believe there are many, many layers……like peeling an onion.
Joe R – very nice gesture. Truex and his wife have been through alot the last couple of years. Glad to see that she beat it, and that Martin is doing well.
Been watching that and F1 since I was a little kid, and make my yearly pilgrimage to Talladega each May to watch them run three wide all day long.I had other things to do on Thursday so I didn’t get to listen to the episode until last night. I then read the comments. It would’ve been nice to heard everything that Chris had to say, before the townfolk broke out the pitchforks,torches, and ropes. Just my two cents.
