ParticipantGreat question, Chris. I’d answer with another question to start.
Is doing wrong or evil innate in humans or is it learned behavior?
If innate, then yes. I’d say Sasquatch ‘could’ be born with evil tendencies also.
I think it’s most likely learned behavior in humans. I mean, babies don’t generally just become evil. Then if we can learn it, then I’d think they could also learn it from us. I’m sure they’ve seen plenty of examples of humans behaving badly.
Definitely a good question to ponder on!

ParticipantBahahaha! I don’t care who you are, that’s funny right there! LOL
Always good to get your take on things Seamus!

ParticipantSome great input, Knobby. So I guess it boils down to the one taking the report and what he or she “feels” about the credibility, sincerity, and believability of the individual giving the report. Good points to consider all around.
Augustine wrote it out just as I had it in mind. While I agree it’s not quite pin-worthy, it could still be something we keep in our subscription/favorites list so that it would be easy to find and add to.
Good stuff, y’all! This just might turn into something yet! lol

ParticipantRight on, I got you Gum. More great advice. I do appreciate it! It was the oddities in many of the second and third hand reports I’ve read that really got me thinking on all this. You have made my mind up as to why.
So, you left out the three W’s on it, but the report of the Sasquatch asking directions to town didn’t happen to come from the area of Duke’s last guests’ experience with the orphan Bigfoot did it!?!
Wouldn’t that be something!

ParticipantHi Chris! Don’t get me started, I can go on for days about it just like I can Sasquatch! LOL
A refiner(not petroleum refiner) is one who processes metals. They take ore from the ground or scrap alloys and turn them into pure metals.
I’m into the precious metals. I take scrap jewelry and even electronics. Recover the silver, gold, and Platinum metals. Then refine them back as pure as I can to sell for cha-ching!
That’s the short answer. Like I said I could go on and on. I absolutely love it!!

ParticipantAnother thing I would wonder, where would you draw the line?
Say an individual gave a story that seemed so far fetched that your dog wouldn’t believe it. Yet they were sincere. Had details of the time, date, location and all the rest.
How would you sort that out and would you even bother to report it?

ParticipantThanks Gum! Working toward making that a full time, self employed refiner. Still have a few years of studying the chemistry and building a large enough client base, but I’ll get there. Then I will be able to devote a lot more time to searching for the big guy!!
That all makes a ton of sense. So how about making a standard heading at the beginning of each post with the when, where, what, laid out at the top of each post? I could see that making specific behaviors or animal types, etc much easier to search for and keep grouped together in an offline format.
You’ve definitely got my gears spinning, Gum!

ParticipantI hope you don’t think I was offended or anything, GSG. I have never seen your criticism be anything less than productive! I’m all ears for your input.
I’m just lowly spark jockey/electrician and part time metals refiner. I’ll take all the help with this I can get!

ParticipantI have to say, I think I do believe the guy. If that was me, oh man! I think I was about 9 years old the first time I told my mother that I wanted to run away. She of course kind of freaked out and made me feel bad. Asking what was wrong. Are we not doing something right? Is someone hurting you? Not enough attention?
I told her no, none of that I just want to go live in the woods. She talked me out of it, but I tell you, if I had a buddy like THAT out there waiting on me I would still be out there!

ParticipantWell said, Tedd! Good post!

ParticipantOh, hey Seamus! You just reminded me of something else that has puzzled me for some time.
Bring up Sasquatch in mixed company and it’s all laughs. Jokes. Eye rolls. Some will even get a little angry that someone would believe in something so stupid. Even though most of us would describe one as real. A living breathing animal. Something that you can see. Hear. Smell. Feel. Taste?(ewww!)
Then bring up ghosts with the same crowd and everybody joins the discussion! They all have at least known somebody that has a ghost story.
I find that to be really bizarre. Not saying anything bad about ghost believers. I’ve had my share of those also. Especially when I was young. But, well, yeah. Just don’t know what to make of that either!

ParticipantIf Todd does “prove they exist” by winning his court case, does it really change anything? Or does the world collectively shrug their shoulders and say some crackpot found a loophole or somehow pulled one over on the government?
I guess time will tell..

ParticipantAbsolutely share, Gum! I’m here to learn and I want to make sure I can help others do the same. I will take any pointers you can give!
Edit to add: Come to think of it, some sort of standardized method of reporting these types of encounters could be a really useful tool.

ParticipantKnobby, the Brown springs report was what I told him about, and actually sent him a link to it later that day. He half jokingly told me the next morning that he wished I wouldn’t have shown him that! LOL
Gum, I tried to get him to close in the date, time of year, etc. He just couldn’t recall well enough for conjecture. Only they all had to be the warmer months.
I can narrow location further to Cheatham County in TN. With the section of Turnbull Creek he and his cousin were at would probably be Dickson County.

ParticipantMy buddy said his brother made fun of him for years any time the subject of Bigfoot would come up. That was until around 5 years ago when his brother had his own sighting!
The story goes that the brother was at my buddy’s house one night. The house sits down a long gravel driveway surrounded by woods.
While on the front porch alone that night, smoking a cigarette, he sees eyeshine creep up low to the ground from behind his truck. He said his first impression was it was something large and he thought he was having a sighting of the storied “black panthers” that are seen from time to time.
Just as the thing came around the bed of the truck he was able to make out elbows of what was apparently a Sasquatch doing the ol’ spider crawl. It then stood up, faced him for a moment, then turned and casually walked down the driveway. He could hear the gravel crunching with each step as it faded into the darkness.
My buddy said his brother ran inside all wild eyed and apologized repeatedly. Saying I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’ll never laugh at your Bigfoot stories again.
So that’s that. My friend starts a new job next week so I doubt I’ll get to talk with him much more. Y’all can bet that if I do and get another story I’ll be back to post it here.
Thanks for reading, and I hope to see some of your stories you’ve collected as well!
