ParticipantScott C,
I love hearing everyones encounters also. Myself, I’ve emailed Wes twice but no response and I don’t think that should be taken the wrong way. When you think about one person asking for people from all over the US to send their experiences, there has to be a huge bottle neck.
We’ve been back to where we had our first experience several times over the past two years. This last summer we were accompanied by a member of Ohios BFRO, while there she was approached by a couple who noticed her hat. They preceded to relate to her their experience which happened just that spring while hiking the loop trail through the state forest. They actually had a visual sighting of one. When Amy asked them where this happened on the loop, they told her it was near the same numbered backcountry campsite we have revisited for the past two years. She thought they seemed sincere & credible. They traded contact info but no report was ever filed to date.
What I’m getting at is I’m starting to realize what Wes is talking about, that for every one reported there are probably ten or more who don’t. Those that are willing to share, like us, are still, like I said before, a huge bottle neck he has to sift through. I would enjoy hearing everyone’s encounters stories. It would be really cool if members could put their encounters in their profile somehow. That would really give us some background on eachother.
Just a thought.
Have you contacted Trail Squatch on possible outings?
Thanks so much for sharing!January 2, 2017 at 1:42 am #97059David W
ParticipantI’m in the same situation as Dave T,
Mirror image all except the stick structures, I’ve never came across any of those. Similar to Dave T, everything happened to my family in Southern Ohio except for the audio recording this last fall in Southern Indiana. Everything we’ve experience has been within a few miles of the Ohio River. I know what everyone is going to say but I’m going to say it anyway, I would really like to see one someday!January 1, 2017 at 3:57 pm #97027David W
ParticipantI understand, thanks guys!

ParticipantI’m just saying this in a kidding manner so please take it that way…
I don’t have any “damn footage” but I did post some “damn audio” to try to get some feedback back and have only had two members comment on it. I would love to have more feed back, post some know animal vocals if you think it’s that or BF vocals if you can find something similar and think that might be what it is. Anything at all. Lol! Thanks!?January 1, 2017 at 12:38 pm #97014David W
ParticipantTrail Squatch,
I don’t know if you remember me or not but we were trying to get things like this worked out almost a year ago. Looks like you’ve got a good handle on it now.
I would still love to show where we had our encounter to someone with experience. I filed a report with the BFRO in Ohio, they are great people but the majority of their group is in NE Ohio. Our encounter happened in extreme Southern Ohio.
We had one member of their group, Amy along with a great guy named Robert meet us down there this past summer. It was nice having them come down but I would love to show this to someone who would regularly put boots on the ground down there. My family and I started doing this together and my boys have unfortunately moved on as far as their interests are concerned. I personally want to continue but not at the expense of alienating myself from my boys. I would love to be kept in the loop as far as info from whoever takes this over. I remember you are in northern KY, we had talked about meeting up but didn’t know if you were still interested.

ParticipantThat’s so cool! Yes I have talked to him over the phone after our experience in Southern Ohio but he talks to so many people I don’t think he remembers me. We’ll, actually, I know he probably doesn’t, I ordered that same video a few weeks back and when I got it in the mail it was addressed to Daniel W. Lol! We are friends on Facebook but that doesn’t mean anything. He did respond to a personal message I sent him about my recordings I posted on here, he thought it was the real deal. He has had so much experience with animals, if anyone would know what made those vocals he sure would.
I think that DVD interview is actually the day before his actual nation wide address to the Fish & Game Division. If thats the case, I would love to see the Fish & Game presentation!
I think it would be so cool for Wes to do an interview with him & Bob Jackson!January 1, 2017 at 10:03 am #97005David W
ParticipantSo Larry was right about Bob Jackson being retired, I just didn’t get all of the info before posting. Lol!
About 24 years into his career is when he was singled out but was reinstated and has sence retired.
Here’s a link to the book mentioned in the article “Hawks Rest” this is the name of a remote region in Yellowstone Bob Jackson patrolled during his career it sounds like.January 1, 2017 at 9:50 am #97004David W

I really enjoyed the videos you posted!
I’ve always loved the idea the Construction holds out, the basic principles. I’ll say the same about the Bible and those basic principles, great and very inspiring.
What I’ve come to realize about both religion & politics is that while at the core of both there are wonderful, wise words to live my life by and i will never stray from, there are a majority of good, well intentioned people surrounding and involved with both. I’m trying to take the high road here so don’t shoot me down for that last statement. Lol! The drama begins when these good, well intentioned try to agree on how to implement these wonderful, wise words & ideas.
I mentioned before, I was raised in a religious family and still attend but I’m what you would call a back row Sunday attendee. Some there, I’m sure, wonder why I don’t get more involved, don’t help out. I’ve seen so much bickering and hurt feelings over differing ideas from good, well intentioned people. Well, I wonder if giving my ideas would really help or just add to the noise & confusion? I do help out behind the scenes with an elderly woman whos only heat source is wood burning. I really enjoy that!
With politics I wonder if it’s kind of the same, I know things need change but maybe the best thing I could do is behind the scenes, pay my taxes (no questionable deductions) help out in my community with worth while causes. They talk about trickle down economics and how that doesn’t work and how real economic growth will come when we focus on the bottom. Maybe the same could be said for how we are governed, I don’t know.
Maybe applying these core principles, individually and passing these on to those we come in contact in our day to day, “treat others the way we would like to be treated” and so on, maybe change could come from the bottom up? Again, I don’t know and maybe my idea is naive and giving it is just adding to the noise but there it is.
Thanks again Steven B, your videos were inspiring!January 1, 2017 at 4:44 am #96993David W
ParticipantIn the September interview of Larry Battson I posted here a few days back, Larry referenced a Yellowstone Park ranger by name (Bob Jackson)
Larry classified him as retired but I did an online search and found this article about him, he didn’t retire but was let go due to a gag order he supposedly violated. The article doesn’t go into what he was talking about but it makes me wonder.
In another thread here the members are talking about salt baiting and if this would work, this article talks about that too.
If Wes couldn’t talk Larry into coming on it would be very, very cool if he could track down this Bob Jackson, get a good first had account of his decades in Yellowstones backcountry!
Here’s the article….December 30, 2016 at 6:20 pm #96895David W
ParticipantI found this older thread about Larry Battson and wanted to say that I came across an online show this past September where Larry is interviewed. He discusses how sence his presentation to the US Fish & Wildlife National Conservation Training Center in 2009, which by the way was a nation wide broadcast via closed circuit TV to all of their locations.
Sence that land mark broadcast, numerous Fish & Game employees who have had on the job encounters and some that have sence retired from their life long career with the government agency, have opened up and talked to Larry about all they witnessed during their career.
This is a link to that show I came across several months back but I didn’t get to listen to the second half of the show. There is a part two where he gets more into the eye witness testimony of the park rangers. I’ve looked but can’t find part two anywhere. It sounded fascinating, as Wes would say and as stated by others in this old thread, Larry Battson would be a great interview for Wes to pursue as a future show!
At about the 50 min mark he starts talking about a park ranger from Yellowstone National Park who would spend weeks alone in the remote parts of the park on the trail of poachers.
If anyone finds part two, please post it here! Thanks!http://mixlr.com/within-the-chaos/showreel/within-the-chaos-on-mixlr-5/

How was Ohio this time of year?
“Shoot me an email” you sound just like Wes. Lol!
I definitely will buddy!Hey, with this tread and these recordings I made, has anyone ever came across supposed Sasquatch vocals similar to this? It always puzzles me about BF vocals, any I come across on line seems to be very wide ranging, no similarities from on to another.
I don’t know, maybe I’m not looking hard enough.December 30, 2016 at 11:25 am #96866David W
ParticipantIf there really are several different types maybe everyone is on to something? Who really knows, it’s enjoyable to me though to hear everyone’s different takes on the subject.

Participanttoomuch! How have you been? It’s been a while. My work slows down over the holidays so I have time on my hands.
Once I get on the forum though, it’s so addictive, I have a hard time putting my phone down!
I already think my wife is mad at me! Lol!? -
