A listener writes “I just started listening to your show about a month ago so I’m pretty new to the whole Sasquatch world. It’s something that has always been buried in the back of my mind since 2009 when I seen one cross the road.
In September of 2009 I was driving back to school in Huntsville TX. I’m from a small town in the DFW area so it’s a 3 hour drive south down 45. I was a student at Sam Houston state for 3 years so during that time I travelled back and forth twice a month, which is a lot of miles. I would always drive back to school on a Sunday night, so this happened around 930pm.

Sam Houston state is right on the edge of Sam Houston national park and you drive through some of it aka the piney woods once you pass Madisonville. Both sides of the interstate are covered in dense pine trees that go on forever…
I was traveling south on 45 about 25 miles north of Huntsville in the right lane, it’s 2 lanes going in each direction and I seen this massive dark creature walk across both lanes going from west to east with what looked like a raccoon in his right hand.
He crossed both lanes in a quick stride and walked into the trees. This whole moment lasted about 5 seconds… I had no idea what to think or realized what I just seen. It’s something that I have only shared with 1 person. I haven’t even told my wife.
Anyhow, just thought I would share my story.”

Amazing! I live right down the road and they are often in my neighborhood. I hear them calling to each other in the spring and fall usually. I wonder that no one else notices. They probably just think it’s a bird that whoops. One threw a rock at my porch one evening. I just stared at the woods for a bit, then stood up and waved in that direction and went in the house. They aren’t really scary here, at least not to me.
