In honor of their Sasquatch themed rum, Arbor Distillery based in Norridgewock is holding a Sasquatch calling contest and rum tasting. The event will be held at the Tocci’s Checkout store in Glenburn, Maine who carry the rum on their shelves.
“You can look it up online there’s some real specific hoots and woops and screams that they make but really anything that’s in your imagination, whatever we think is the best or the coolest or the funniest is going to work,” said Peter Hansen, Owner of Arbor Distillery.
The owners of the convenience store are also big foot fans and say they had to jump at the opportunity to help make this contest possible.
“Anybody local that is interested in being here or has something big foot that they’d like to share, there’s more people in this community that believe than don’t so there’s that,” said Jessica Tocci, co-owner of Tocci’s Checkout Convenience Store.
The event will be held on Saturday Aug 30th, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. with the contest starting at 4 p.m.
There is a $100 cash prize for the best sasquatch call.
Organizers say there will also be additional prizes and giveaways.
