A listener writes “My strange encounter happened around 10 years ago made a girlfriend at the time I travelled out to look at a meteor shower that was happening that night around 2 am.
We pulled up at the side of the road in a layby and we had been there maybe half an hour or so, when we heard what we believe that the time to be an acorn or some kind of seed dropping on top of the van. This happened maybe for a five times over the next hour we brought with us a picnic and after eating and drinking this I need to relieve myself.
I jumped out the van looked up in the sky to see if I could see The shooting stars and that’s when I realized there was no tree over us if there is no tree within 20ft of us, I got back in the van and told my girlfriend she was as surprised as I was as we both heard what sound like acorns dropping on the van roof, it was about 15 minutes or so after this when another one landed on the roof.
At this point I got a feeling of dread and we left. For years I wondered what it was and I put it down to being some sort of vagrant, what else could it be I thought.
I’ve collected a few stories from the same area now so I’m sure something is going on I include a picture below which is hard to make out but it’s actually two day legs that were found in the same location. A few years later the local say the day population there has declined over the last few years although we do have poachers in the UK there are no predators so it makes me wonder also with a deer legs. Which you can see in the picture.
They were torn off so tendons et cetera were hanging out Right then cut off I said poachers and again why would poachers Almost as if they’ve been dropped.”

Why bother? Because Wes posts what people send him, and he doesn’t correct the entry, only records it. How many programs have we listened to where Wes just listens, impartially, and is diplomatic. It’s bad enough that people are traumatized. It would not be right to correct and edit what people tell him. If he did that, it would not be authentic. He listens and carefully records what people say. That’s the beauty of SC.

Now that’s a real word. It could be. Many people are from all over. He’s in UK apparently, but could be working or living in that country from Scandinavia or Germany, or elsewhere. At any rate, it wasn’t a nice thing to say. Wes has enough on his hands without needing to be an English teacher too. Bless his heart.

Totally agree & One can certainly get the basic story. Ever see the examples of a paragraph totally mis spelled but one can still read it? Supposedly we do not read every letter anyway!
