When translated from gulf arabic, through greek, into english, the word is ‘Djin’.
Although lost to a lot of the more modern generations, the spelling of words, particularly words from antiquity, can tell you almost as much as the word itself. It can tell you where a word comes from, and where it has been, and what it is doing. In this case the ‘D’ in the word Djin is significant. In the past thd letter ‘D’ at the beginning of a word indicated god. More precisely, of god, or god like.
