It’s Now Happening In Antarctica And Scientists Are Worried

It’s now happening in Antarctica and scientists are worried. We take a look at what’s happening in Antarctica and why scientists are worried.

Antarctica is known as being one of the last places on Earth that humans discovered. Despite the discovery of this land mass we don’t really know much about it. The environment is hostile and not easy to get to. When here you have to deal with the harsh conditions. The temperature close to the coasts of Antarctica are close to freezing in the summer months. During the winter however temperatures can be between -10°C and -30°C but temperatures. When you reach higher elevation though the temperatures struggle to get above -20°C and has been known to fall below -60°C in winter. Vostok station holds the record for the lowest ever temperature recorded at the surface of the Earth -89.2°C.

Sometime this week I read the headlines of an article that was about over 100 volcano’s being under Antarctica and that it was causing ice to melt under it. Didn’t read anymore because I was not interested in it and since I read so much at night, I can’t remember when or where I read it. I am not a pro-climate change person so I didn’t read any more.

Climate change is real and it has nothing to do with politics. There’s an old saying that sometimes the most obvious answer is the one that’s most easily missed. Never has that been more true when it comes to man made climate change. Meteorology records started being kept in the 1800’s. Over the last 30 years melting of ice, super storms and other non-natural calamities have occurred that have never been recorded before.
Here’s what we can do — as humans we ALL want clean air, clean water and clean property. If we do that then a huge positive side effect would be a dramatic slow down of polar ice melt. There are a ton of nice and easy solutions out there for all of us without the garbage of politics.

It’s science. It’s like if you had 100 physician scientists and 98 of them said ‘our studies show that smoking cigarettes will cause cancer and other health issues’ and 2 of them said ‘smoking cigarettes doesn’t cause any illness that you wouldn’t already be getting’. Are you really going to believe the 2 scientists over the 98 because your senator or president agreed with them?

I use to have a dream that the Grand Canyon
was full of water. But that was a dream.
There is unusual weather patterns throughout
the world that has me wondering about global
    warming.

Where I live it’s been 110-115 degrees from the end of June to the middle of August, and that’s only during the last 10 years or so. It should be a big deal, because this is cattle country, and when the range is dead and dry and there is nothing for the cattle to eat, then the ranchers have to sell their cattle for what they can get for them. Their pay-out goes down, and the cost of your beef goes up. Remind me again of why this is a political issue, all of you guys who like your steaks and burgers? Someday, when we’ve all but destroyed this planet, we are going to realize that we can’t eat money.

    Hello,

    Sigh.

I remember when we were going to die off: an ice age, acid rain, polution, over population, and there were others. Socialist want us paranoid so we’ll accept their crap. If you think it through, what little we do to this world is going to cause everything to “collapse”. It’s kind of prideful to think “we” are the cause of Global warming or what I like to call it; made up paranoia. I have a better idea. One most don’t want to consider. Maybe we’re pissing God off.

You nailed it Bob, good ole Common since is becoming a rarity anymore, but seems there are still a few who are not influenced by the extreme…Thanks for the clear message…

If 98 of the doctors were paid handsomely to research the topic, with no end in sight, I’d be apt to put more validity in what the 2 unpaid doctors had to say. Do your homework. Find out who funds these researchers. It’s called “follow the money”.

As far as I’m concerned. What is happening in Antartica is exactly was is suppose to happen. The earth goes through all kinds of changes. Always has always will. Doesn’t worry me at all. I don’t believe have of what Scientist say anyway. They also say Bigfoot doesn’t exist.

The climate has changed numerous times during our 4.5 billion year old planets life. It’s a fact. Undisputed. The problem with the current thinking is that it’s man-made. That’s political BS. It will happen with or with out humans. We don’t matter. Are we speeding it up, perhaps. No worries though, earth will always find a new equilibrium it just may not contain Homo sapiens.
You can’t deny climate change but you can’t prove the degree to which humans are contributing. We are arrogant to assume we can. Harsh as it may sound, why the hell care? No species has ever been here for the life span of the earth. We are but a grain of sand on the geological clock. Enjoy your life, seek to not harm others, and do the best you can to make the world better. Stop being concerned about something you will never control or fully understand.
