It was eight and half to nine foot tall

A listener writes “What I ran into in early October 2006 was eight and half to nine foot tall, three and a half to four foot wide, paced me out of the woods, bluff charged me, and threw rocks. I also heard laughing and what sounded like talking. However what I ran into was not a Sasquatch / Bigfoot! You mayask how I know, and I would tell you because I saw it, standing twenty feet away from me and it was not a Sasquatch.

I was heading to a spot in the club that had a lot of spooky stories attached to it. It is known as the Von Cemetery. It is a small family plot with maybe four headstones located in it. There have been stories of lights, cars mysteriously not cranking, radio knobs turning all the way up, and radio antennas shaking violently back and forth like someone or something had walked by and slapped it. Well I had parked at the cemetery and made my way about three quarters of a mile back to the stand. I have never been in this spot and not seen at least one deer but this evening was different. I saw nothing and just felt uneasy most of the evening. I didn’t think anything about it and started making my way back to the truck. Keep in mind all I had was a compound bow and a small flashlight. Well after an uneasy walk back to the truck I got in and was fixing to pull off when I remembered I had left my phone in the side pouch of my tree stand. I put the bow and my gear up and started making the long trek back to retrieve my phone. After getting it I didn’t know why but I just wanted to get back to the truck. I felt very uncomfortable.

As I was slowly making my way back I could hear footsteps alongside me. I initially thought it was a cat of some kind. We run deer dogs and have tree’d a large black cat and have a crossing named after it. So that was my first thought, but as I stopped it would stop. I would hit it with the little mag light and could never see anything although it sounded like it was only feet away from me. Well this went on all the way back to the truck. When I finally arrived at the truck I could swear I heard laughing and talking in the distance but keep in mind the nearest house is probably four miles away. At this point in time I began to think that it was paranormal activity. I had heard a lot but seen nothing. Like I said I have had a lot of encounters with ghosts and the like so I decided I would go for back up. I called one of my friends who used to do a lot of “ghost hunting” with me and he was down for anything. I made my way to his house and within an hour we were back at the cemetery. We pulled into a four-wheeler trail with the rear of the truck touching the gravel road. To our left was a straight shot gravel road, to our right about twenty feet was a small bridge with no guard rails then the gravel road continued. Woods lined both sides of the truck and we began to wait. We had run my 12volt spotlight cord through the rear window and were sitting on the tool box overlooking the road, bridge, and trees that surrounded us. We began to hear the same walking sounds that I had described earlier but this time I had a spotlight on the ready. I would get to almost sounding like it was going to be right on top of us and I would hit it with the light. Nothing! It got so loud that it actually sounded like a herd of deer running right at us only feet away and right before it was about to make contact I would hit the light. Nothing was there! My friend and I were not satisfied yet and began to provoke it.

Suddenly you could hear something walking in the water followed by voices and laughter, you could not make out anything being said but we both could hear it. We walked our way over to the bridge to see if we could see anything and of course we could not. At this point my friend started to really provoke it by saying things like “Is that really all you can do?” “I want you to show yourself” followed by calling it every name in the book. When suddenly it sounded like a three ton boulder hit the water with an enormous splash that made the both of us jump and run back to the truck. After sitting there a few more minutes and convincing ourselves it was nothing, things had seemed to go back to normal. So we started the provoking and name calling again in the pitch darkness.

For no reason at all I turned on the spotlight and illuminated the road in front of the truck. Standing twenty feet in front of the truck was a nine foot tall being, solid black, and probably three and a half to four feet wide. As soon as the light hit it, it dissipated into the ground like smoke dissolving. I turned to look at my friend and he was turning to look at me and asked me “Did you see that?” We didn’t have long to think about it before the first rock hit my shoulder. I didn’t know what it was at first until I saw one coming through the air towards us. We both jumped in the truck and began to take off with the windows still down, the whole time rocks were hitting us! Doing 40mph and something was still keeping up throwing rocks through the windows hitting us! We were not very spiritual people but we both began to pray for Jesus not to let this demon follow us home. After dropping him off I made my way home and placed two crosses on each side of my pillow.

I don’t know why I just felt pure evil overcome us in those moments on that gravel road. I don’t know what it was I saw, I always thought it was a demon, until I started listening to your show. So many parallels, take your podcast drawing for example, it looked just like that but color in the arms and legs so its a solid figure with a head, completely blacked out, just like a black shadow that is so dark no light can pierce its veil! I knew a man that lived close to the encounter and asked him a few weeks later if he had ever seen anything weird. Without me telling him a word he said one night he had fallen asleep on Apple Tree Road “the road we were on” and he awoke to something beating on his windshield. When he opened his eyes he said a huge black figure was bent over staring at him through the front windshield. That was all the validation I needed.”
