A listener writes “I’ve always been a believer and a big fan of your show. My boyfriend Dave has never been a believer and would always tease me about watching Bigfoot shows and listening to your podcast.

He’s been in the forest his whole life from working falling timber to living in forest areas to just venturing in the outdoors all by himself.

Well last week I had Wednesday off and I told him let’s go to your spot we will take the 2 dogs and see how this goes. While there we meet this guy who was about 10 years older than us and I said oh look he has a Sasquatch and alien on his water bottle. Dave was like oh yeah she believes in Sasquatch and the guy was like me too. I’ve heard them I know they are out there and I finally got my first picture of of a footprint the other year. Then Dave pipes up well if I’m being completely honest… there’s this little tiny waterfall down the river where I’ve seen these giant footprints all over the bank. I was like what?! You never told me this! He said well I want you to come camping with me.

He said he would take me to see them in the kayaks I said ok. We needed up going to another lake the next day. But he had another day off so he told me he was going to go back for another night. That’s when it happened.

So he was camping at wickiup in central Oregon. Closest campground is sheep ridge campground.
He had gone back to the same spot and his buddy and his girlfriend were there along with our new friend that had the water bottle with the Sasquatch and alien. Dave hung out with them and then decided he was going to kayak over to the little waterfall and camp solo. We said goodnight on the phone and I went to bed.

Woke up at 4am the next morning. I was surprised to see him home. I asked why he was home and he said he got rained out. He was sleeping in the back of the truck in the open and a storm came through and just dumped on him. I thought ok. He climbed into bed then told me what had happened. This is what he said….
He was hanging out with everyone at the camp they had. It was starting to get late so he loaded his kayak with with tent sleeping bag and all the gear he needed.

He had to paddle against the current which was pretty strong as the river was very low. He thought to himself he was getting a later start than he expected because it was starting to get dark. As he recounted the story to me he said I didn’t know if the shadows were playing a trick on me. But as I was padding to my spot I saw someone standing on the bank and I was squinting my eyes like is there really a guy standing there? As he got closer something came over him. He said it was a huge man if it was a man. Then it turned its top half and looked at him. When that happened he said he was in total fear. He froze. When he did that the current took him back about 60 feet away and hit the bank and when he hit the bank he snapped out of it. I asked if he had his gun he said it was right behind him on the side of his bag but even if it was sitting on his lap he couldn’t have grabbed it. He was frozen. I immediately asked. Do you think it was a bigfoot? He said he couldn’t think of what else it could have been. He said if he was standing beside it on the bank it would have been 2 to 3 feet taller than him (he’s 6 foot 2) and he said the width was huge.

I tried asking him questions to get all the details he could remember while it was fresh in his mind. He said the moon was behind it so he couldn’t see details but it really looked like the bigfoot stickers everyone has. He thinks it sent out some sort of infrasound that made him freeze. I was excited that he had seen one but he said he was getting the chills just talking about it and wanted to get some sleep. He made his way back to the back of the truck after the encounter but slept lightly thinking this thing could just take him of it wanted to. We went to sleep and the next day I asked him how he was feeling. He said every time he closed his eyes and started to drift off the image would come back to him and so would the fear. It took him a good 3 days to get some rest without the image coming to him. Since then he has gone through the I just want to forget it happened to talking about again and then getting the chills and not wanting to think about it.

It really blew his mind he wonders what else is real. He did tell his grandpa and mom the other day and his mom was like yeah I believe it. Your grandpa has some stories. He had a place in Fishhawk lake in Oregon and he said there was a canyon there that no one would go hunting in because they knew they were there. If people went there they would go missing or come back mangled or killed.”
