Infrasound Theory/Test

A listener wanted to share his infrasound theory, he writes “One of the things I find most intriguing and puzzling to me is that a lot of your guests, in the telling of their story talk about how suddenly, the forest just went dead silent, no crickets, no birds singing, no rustling squirrels and so on.

Then a sense of dread or fear over comes them for no apparent reason, some see the sasquatch some don’t, but most have the same experience up until they see it.

My Infrasound Theory

What if the sasquatch emits infrasound as a sound deadening technique to cloak their movements when hunting or investigating human intrusion. A lot of your guests hear something big approaching from a long way off and as it seems it is getting close; the silence happens abruptly along with fear and dread. To me it makes more sense that the sasquatch is emitting infrasound below our hearing capabilities, making a type of “white noise” that blocks out all other sounds. Rather than the entire forest just going completely quiet. Then if the sasquatch runs off, he sounds like a bulldozer going through the woods and all other sounds return? If this is true in some way or part, then the sasquatch is no longer sneaking up or hunting using his infrasound “white noise” sound deadening technique.

My casual stab at research says humans cannot detect infrasonic waves below 20Hz. Also noteworthy is 19Hz can produce feelings of discomfort, dread and yes fear. Since 19Hz is below human hearing these feelings can be produced without anyone being able to hear the note? Same research says infrasound, or low frequency sound can be blocked or reduced by using noise-canceling technology.

Test Theory

Use different types of noise-canceling technology on human participants or in an area with high sasquatch activity with humans participating in an experiment to see if the participants experience the sudden quieting of the forest, along with dread and uncontrolled fear when a sasquatch is close.

Wes, feel free to use this “Infrasound Theory/Test” or pass it along to the Bigfoot community to further the cause in any way. I just want to contribute if possible and find out the truth in full.

I hunted in the FL everglades, SC and GA for 30 years in places where Sasquatch sightings have occurred and could possible live, so I am a believer, but I have never seen one or had a strange occurrence while in the woods.

A little info on myself. I am not a researcher of any kind. I am retired now, but I was an A/C maintenance supervisor and mechanic for 45 years. What I did learn from all those years was listening to problems and finding patterns, proposing fixes with said findings and later testing out the proposed fix.

I don’t hunt anymore. Just boating and fishing now, done that all my life and still do it all the time.”

Great idea! Experiments teach us so much.

On the humorous side of things:

I have a feeling my husband would really like to see someone volunteer me to be tested.
