A listener writes “I am a new listener; I was put onto your show by my younger brother. I’ve been listening for about a month and I think what you do is extraordinary.

I want to tell you about my encounter that happened to me about a year ago out here in the Key Peninsula here in WA. It happened while I was at work and both me and a co worker witnessed the same thing at the same time. So I work for a land survey company out here and we were out staking a property and we had an encounter with what i believe to be a dogman, and I say that because I distinctly saw a snout peeking out from behind a tree at us. We were staking a boundary and we had come to a point in our survey where we needed to traverse or move forward; so together we began moving down the line of this property looking for a spot to finish out the survey or at least the best route to get there.

We stepped out of some thick brush into a small cleared area which further opened up into someone’s yard. We were walking side by side up this small dirt road to get higher up to see our survey gun. we were walking and talking along and as we walked past this tree that wasn’t too big but it wasn’t small and as I walked past I saw this head poking out from behind it. I only saw it for maybe 3 seconds as I turned my head to look at my coworker and then it was like my mind went blank trying to process what I just saw, and I was staring blankly at the ground and I said “was that a dog” to my coworker and he said yeah I think it was. So we stopped and immediately went to the other side of the tree and there was nothing there. We were dumbfounded. There was a huge vegetative wall facing the tree and the only place this thing could have run would have been into the neighbors yard or straight up the tree. And we would have heard something that big moving fast like that, because this whole story took place over the course of a matter of a few minutes.

I say that big because we circled the tree and side that this thing peeked out of was at the bottom of a 4’ steep little slope and this thing’s head was sticking out about 3 to 4 feet off the ground of the top of the slope that we were on. It was much bigger than myself, im 6’ and 220lbs and I tried standing there and peek out and I barely was able to peek out. I distinctly remember seeing a snout, ears and a thick neck leading to the right shoulder of this thing. It had a thick trap muscle that you could see from the front. I don’t recall seeing any arms or anything else sticking out from the tree but that head was so very distinct. I’ve tried talking to others about it but I’m just met with ridicule. My coworker is the only person who believes what we saw and I believe that this was all true in that he immediately said he saw a dog and immediately looked in the same spot as I was for this thing, and I have no clue where he was looking when I saw it so him going to the same spot without me pointing it out tells me this was real. I have never had an experience like this before and to be honest it has got me scared to go back out into the woods. I now work in the office for the same company, been in here ever since.”
