“I really do not know what it was…”

A listener writes “Wes, I want to discuss an incident that happened to my girlfriend and I on 8-19-2018. She and I love to legend trip. We often go out of town on our weekends off and stay in and investigate your “haunted” and spooky locations.

We have stayed in all the haunted hotels in Jefferson, Texas and hiked just about every bigfoot hotspot in the East Texas area. We had spent the day on the 19th traveling around the area and our last stop was a place called Killough monument in the Bullard area.

We spent about an hour there….taking pictures and just exploring the area. We left and went to a small cemetery down the road from the monument and that’s where things began to get really strange. I parked in front of cemetery gate and as soon as my girlfriend got out of the car a wave of nausea hit her that almost made her throw up. After she was able to compose herself we walked through the gate and proceeded to walk across the cemetery to the older area that was closest to the wood line in the very back of the cemetery.

About 3/4 of the way across there is a section that has a cyclone fence around it. My girlfriend walked in that direction and I continued to walk toward the back of the cemetery to a site that had gotten my attention. I was around 15-20 feet from the wood line. We were still having the uneasy feeling and there were NO sounds in the area. There weren’t any birds singing…there was nothing.

I was staring at a tombstone when I heard what I can only describe as a heavy stomp like an animal purposely trying to make some kind of noise to let me know it was in the area. What happened next I can only describe as the world imploding in front if me. After the noise that sounded like something large either stomping the ground or standing up, the entire forest canopy in front of me was pulled in on itself. It was the exact opposite of an explosion. It was like something 15 feet tall and 6 feet wide grabbed a hold of every limb around it and pulled them down to the ground. Dust, was flying everywhere.

The commotion was so violent Wes, that I knew I was going to die. That’s the feeling I got from this thing. I ran until I came to the fenced in area part of the graveyard my girlfriend was standing in and she was yelling at me to jump over the fence. She watched the whole thing happen in real time and she can corroborate everything I have told you. We left the area immediately.

Strange thing….after this large commotion happened in front of me, there was complete silence again. It was like nothing had happened. There weren’t any type of whoops, growls, or any other type of verbal warnings. There was just silence.

Was it a bigfoot? I don’t know. All I know is it was a very large animal that could have seriously injured me. I honestly think it was just trying to let me know I was way too close to something and it wanted me out of the area.

That’s the majority of the story. I do have another incident that happened a few weeks before but I’ll send it to you at a later date. I recorded only what I can describe a a wet, deep, guttural growl on my voice recorder. We have also heard tree knocks, or what I presume to be tree knocks in the area every time we go there. I can send you that video if you want it.

Thank you for your time. All of the things I told you happened….I swear it’s real and I have no reason to make up something like this. Thank you for your time.”
