A listener writes “I have had one encounter with sasquatch as a child while visiting my cousin. I have always loved being outdoors and exploring the outdoors.

My encounter was when I was about six years old. I lived in orangeburg sc at the time but spent my summers with my favorite cousin alonzo that lived where I now live. He lived on a hill out in the stix near the edisto river. I’m 55 years old now so this was about 50 years ago when people had trash piles on their on property because there was no city dump.

About twice a month on the weekend my immediate family would go visit other family in their hometown. Any way one Saturday or Sunday we were visiting my favorite cousin at his home and it was about time to leave for home about an hour and a half away.

I don’t know what time of year it was but it wasn’t cold out. It was getting close to dark and my cuz and I were playing around a little ways from my aunts back porch by a wood line. there was a steep hill going down into the woods there and my uncle threw all their trash down there back then. The edisto river was about an eighth of a mile back through there. Well while screwing around there something caught my attention.

I dont know why but I noticed something peering around a tree about twenty feet down the hill. it was mostly hidden by underbrush but I could see an arm and leg that the tree couldn’t hide. This thing was standing upright and mostly hidden behind the tree. It would lean it’s head to the side enough to see with one eye around the tree to watch us. We were on the top of the slope and 6 year old tall and this thing was taller than us standing 20 ft down the slope.

After seeing it, it hid its head back behind the tree. I kept watching and it peeked back out again. That was enough for me I asked my cousin if he saw it and he said yeah then we hauled butt out of there back to the house.”
