A listener writes “I had an encounter with what I think was two Bigfoot’s at my property in desoto parish Louisiana (very close to Sabine national reserve) when I was 16.

I was hunting a bow stand one evening and I was sitting about 30 feet in a tree on a slight hill overlooking a creek bottom. About 15 minutes before no more shooting light I heard a splash about 40 yds to my left in the creek crossing right where my access trail went back up the hill towards camp. (I should also mention this stand is on the farthest side of the property from camp) I didn’t think much of it figuring it was one of the big pigs I had on camera.

Not long after that every animal sound completely shut off(crickets and frogs were going pretty good before this). I could hear my heart beating through my ears it was so quiet. Then their was a super deep guttural growl at the base of my access trail to my left but I couldn’t see anything from my point of view bc of the foliage.

I ended up sitting in the stand about 30 minutes after this happened and had no other action so I just shrugged it off that it was a pig grunting. I started gathered my things and texted my cousin to come pick me up on the four-wheeler and started heading down the tree. This sounds crazy but this is exactly what happened. As soon as my first foot hit the ground from the tree at the top of my access trail their was around a 30 second cadence of what sounded like 2 monkeys whooping extremely loud back and forth.

The only way I can describe it is the way on of your guests said on the podcast before he shot it with a pistol. “They were working themselves up into a bloodlust” I immediately felt a sense of impending doom for the first time in my life. (this is the trail I have to walk back out of and all o have is my bow and a 9mm pistol) I did not think I was gonna make it out of their that night alive.

After about 5 minutes (felt like hours) of sitting dead still in fear at the base of the tree I could hear the four-wheeler coming from off the distance. So I mustered up all the courage I had and made sure my 9mm was on fire and proceeded to walk up the hill to the four-wheeler trail. Once my cousin arrived, he immediately asked if I was okay bc I looked like “I had just seen a ghost”. I told him I just needed to get back to camp. Explained everything too him and he kind of laughed it off bc no one else in my family has had any experiences at this property. I never went back to that stand and no one has hunted it since.

Until this most recent summer and deer season no one has really believed my story….. but now I have multiple pictures of something I can’t explain. It appears to have a shape like a bigfoot. The tree it is hiding behind is over 7 foot tall. I’ve got multiple pictures like this in different spots on this lane.

The cousin that picked me up that night was hunting a stand on a pipeline on the opposite side I of the property from where my experience happened this November. He told me at around 4 o clock what appeared to be a “black bear” stepped out in the lane and started walking away on four legs from him never showing it’s frontal side. It Then sat down on its butt in the middle of the lane about 400 yds away and starting scratching it’s face.

Then it proceeded to walk back into the woods it came from just as quick as it appeared. He said it never got up on two legs except before it sat down. When he got down from the stand he claims that the four-wheeler was moved 30 yds from where he parked it.

Hunting is my number 1 passion and I’ve been hunting my whole life but that one experience has stayed with me through the years and made me uncomfortable to be anywhere in the woods past dark.”
