How the park ranger reacted raised my suspicion

A listener writes “Hey Wes. I would like to share a small encounter that I had about two years ago. I was about Seventeen at the time.

Me my father my stepmother my brother and my sister-in-law all decided to go on a trip up into northern eastern Utah near Monte Cristo. Me and my Dad love the topic of Sasquatch and we do believe that they are out there. So we decided to go out and try to find evidence. We honestly we’re just having fun and spending time together we weren’t actually planning on finding anything more or less just having the experience of going out and looking.

The day started off pretty exciting when we came across the large bull moose and then further up the road we found a female moose with a young calf. And then about a mile or so up the road we decided to park the car and to go out and start looking. It was about Twilight and was getting pretty dark we all have flashlights and my father gave me a little 22 just in case even though I know that wouldn’t do anything against the Sasquatch or even a bear. We started walking on the road that had a hill on the left coming down that flatend out into the road and then continue down on the right into another tree line.

All my family have their flashlight pointed downhill thinking that if they were to see anything you would be downhill and not uphill. We were about a mile up the road when I got a really nervous and Dreadful feeling inside. And something deep inside me told me that I should point my flashlight up the hill to my left. And when I did there were two very large eyes looking at me from the trees and bushes. The eyes were fairly low to the ground as if whatever was watching us was laying down. I immediately hit my brother this side and gestured towards what I was looking at. The fear I was feeling at the time was extraordinary I was petrified and could not move.

The eyes were staring for about 10 seconds and then they slowly started to Blink. I could distinctly tell how the eyelids going over the eyes because the blink was really slow. At that time my brother started panicking and pulled out his 40-caliber pistol and I had my 22 drawn. My father sister-in-law and stepmother did not see what we were looking at but they could tell we were afraid so they became afraid to. After about another five seconds the eyes begin to move and whatever was looking at us begin to walk back up the hill but before it did it let out a very low and Loud growl. At that point we all decided to start backing up and my father thought it would be a good idea for me to shoot the 22 pistol into the Woodline. Thinking back on that it really was not a good idea but I’m in fear I reacted by shooting two shots Into the Woods. By the time we made it back to the car State Forest ranger had pulled up to our vehicle. He had gotten a call about gunshots being discharged in the woods and he was investigating it. We told him our experience and what we were doing out there and he decided to share some information with us. He was telling us that they are not supposed to talk about it but there are things out in the woods that are very dangerous and unknown. He warned us not to fire off any more shots and then we should probably leave the area.

Now to me this encounter wasn’t a definite proof of a Sasquatch because it could have been a bear or some other creature but based on how the park ranger reacted it raised my suspicions over time that it could have been something more. I’m a very big fan of your show and I love researching Sasquatch in finding out everything I can about it. We’ve also had experiences out at the Skinwalker Ranch which is here in Utah. I don’t know if you never want to hear about that but I figured I should share my encounter to see what you think it may have been. Thanks for reading this and I will continue to listen to your show so I can learn more about Sasquatch.”
