Hikers Disappeared Years Apart (2013-2024) Gifford Pinchot National Forest

Bryan’s Mysteries & Adventures on Trail writes “Hello everyone, in today’s video I will be discussing 2 separate cases that occurred in the same national Forest. The first: Kristopher Zitzewitz (31) disappeared in the Big Lava Bed area of Gifford Pinchot National Forest while out hiking with his friend Caleb on September 28, 2013. Sometime around 2pm they became separated and Kristopher couldn’t be found. The Skamania County Sheriff’s Office was called and a massive search and rescue was launched with the Silver Star Search and Rescue Team. Sadly, after searching for several weeks with hundreds of people, he was not found.

Then in November of 2022, John Hopkins (69) had traveled from his home in Seattle to the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. He was hiking in the McClellan Meadows Sno-Park area when he disappeared on October 26, 2022. The Skamania County Sheriff’s Office searched for him and found his car at the parking lot.. then later in 2023 found items that were John’s, roughly a mile and a half to the northeast of the parking lot.”
