Federal officials are investigating an incident involving at least one gunshot fired over the weekend at Mammoth Cave National Park that was prompted by an alleged sighting of Bigfoot.
A spokesperson for the national park said law enforcement rangers responded around 2 a.m. Sunday to an incident involving a person with a firearm at one of the park’s backcountry campsites.
While the park did not release any additional information, a camper named Brad Ginn told News 2 that he and his girlfriend were there at the time.
Ginn said the two went to sleep around 11 p.m. and woke up around 1 a.m. to people shining flashlights on their tent. The couple exited their tent to find a man and his young son approaching.
According to Ginn, the man explained that something had destroyed his campsite and that he kept hearing strange sounds, so he was going to investigate because this was “Bigfoot Country.”
Ginn’s girlfriend claimed she heard the same sounds.
The man reportedly showed the couple his gun and told them if they heard gunshots, they should run.
Ginn and his girlfriend returned to their tent and said about five to 10 minutes later, they heard at least one gunshot.
The man and his son returned to the couple’s tent and stated that Bigfoot had emerged from the woods, and approached them, so he had fired his weapon.
Due to the bizarre circumstances, Ginn said he and his girlfriend immediately packed up and left the campsite.
The incident remains under investigation by park law enforcement officials.

I’m going to have to agree with you.

This is why you want to have a camera on your gun and adequate lightning. So that if something like this occurs. You have proof. I’m not sure that I’d fire a weapon at an approaching bigfoot if I thought that they wanted to meet. If they charged in an aggressive and hostile manner. I’d probably issue a verbal warning and if that didn’t work fire a warning shot. And if they stopped or veered, I’d refrain from shooting them. If they didn’t stop, veer or slow down, and continued charging, I’d shoot them. Whether it was an intentional head or chest kill shot, or a non lethal shoulder, pelvis or limb hit, would depend on the circumstances.
Most of my ops are run with a 2 or 3 mile buffer zone. So that if there are hostilities, the risk of injuring someone or damaging something is minimal. Gun shots can’t be heard much past 2 miles, or less depending on terrain. It also means that help is a distance away. But that’s the risk that you take running the types of ET/ED contact ops that I do.

Sounds like all that online tactical training is really paying off for ya
Richard P
I’d put the online stuff more in the research category. Most of the tactical training has been barracks, class room, field and facilities. Most of it pre internet without computers. Though I use a lot of tech now.

Only verbal warning known to make them leave, is telling them to leave in the name of Jesus Christ , several people have said it worked.
Richard P
If they start doing exorcist stuff I might resort to that. If they’re un clothed early humans behaving like you’d expect them to. That’s how I’ll treat them. I’m more interested in making friends than enemies if it isn’t necessary. If they want to stay away from me and leave me alone, that’s fine. If they want to get along with me and develop positive relations, that’s fine too.

Richard P. You must be one of them PROFESSIONAL type bigfoot hunters… Sounds like you BAGGED a couple dozen already… And I’m sure ya have VIDS and pics to prove it… Its all good…
Richard P
I’m not hunting anything. I don’t know why you say that. I’ve had 1, maybe 2 bigfoot encounters. And I never drew a gun. Let alone shot at one.
I’m working high activity areas. There’s a bigfoot UFO nexus. I’m dealing with the bigfoot component because it’s present and ignoring it would be stupid. If there wasn’t any bigfoot presence that would be fine. I’m not looking for them.

I didn’t know anyone actually read or watched cnn.

That stupid newscaster couldn’t help but smirk and laugh at the mention of bigfoot, what an ass. Sorry, had to vent.

CNN is in the dumpster.
Richard P
I agree, it’s why I stopped watching television 30 years ago.
If you look into it in any depth. You’ll find that it’s run by the same people who did 911 and bring humanity the American forever war that most Americans would like to see end.

I have been to mammoth cave I didn’t see or hear anything out of the normal

The newscasters smirky , grinning attitude really ticks me off. Maybe he needs to come out of his rich neighborhood and fancy restaurants and shops and take a look around. They are here and scoffing at the evidence wont make them go away.

I hope he did not hit the creature.I think this could cause trouble for other visitors to the park.I wonder what caused it to tear their camp site apart?

The whole thing sounds strange to me…why would this guy take his young son back into a possible deadly situation, especially if he thinks it could be a Bigfoot?
