Friday Night Movie: Bigfoot Man or Beast

Wrestling Films writes “Here is the 70’s classic Bigfoot Man or Beast. Staying up late on the weekend to be scared by a cheesy movie was what growing up in the late 70’s or early 80’s was all about.

One channel had the Late Movie so you had to hope it was something good. I remember there always seemed to be a bigfoot movie to save the day (or rather night). This public domain treasure is one of my favorites. It’s actually two documentaries cobbled together.

The first 20 minutes contains interviews with Fred Beck about Ape Canyon and Albert Ostman about his kidnapping. It also has the Patterson-Gimlin film along with other interviews with John Green, Grover Krantz, Rene Dahinden and Janos Prohaska. The rest is basically Robert Morgan camping with a bunch of Hippies. Although it does have a good segment with John Green and Rene Dahinden.

I hope it brings back some good memories for you like it does for me. I also have Sasquatch The Legend of Bigfoot on 16mm film that I will be transferring soon. It makes a great bigfoot double feature.”

Cool Wes, I will check it out. But not just about the subject matter. I like idea of being nostalgic about things that used to be and I remember. What seemed to be in an era much simpler than today. At least through the eyes of one young. Now is a far cry from once was. Thanks again Wes.

This is a gem, Wes. the historical value of this film is immense. comments and appearances from early researchers and eyewitnesses are fabulous. hold on to this. great job.
