I remember the late Bobby Short of Bigfoot Encounters had some encounters from military bases. This may have been there originally, not sure. Most times the group patrols got quite scared. A number have come out of Andrews AFB which initially was surprising as this is high desert and not forest. The very last statement is true, we all know it. However this soldier was asked to stay alone, most likely from an order from above. It is much easier to discredit one soldier’s account rather than two or more that can corroborate each other, should that need arise. This is why the Bentwaters AFB UFO encounters of Christmas time in 1980 is such a highly regarded case as it had many witnesses saying the same thing to this day, including the Deputy Base Commander, Charles Halt.

Charlie R. You make a very good point! Easier to set up one person then 2-3. I’m also familiar with the case that you mention in the U.K. The Deputy Base Comander Holt even made a audio tap the encounter. I was surprised it wasn’t taken from him.
