Good stuff ,I always wanted to know the meaning of the word Omaha so I looked it up and it is related to the language spoken by it’s native peoples ,I wanted to know this because the name Oh-mah-ah is Hoopa for Sasquatch.

I live in Nebraska. Over the last few years there has been several reports of bigfoot in the news here in Eastern Nebraska. There have also been a few tales I have heard second hand by outdoors people. I hunt, fish and collect fossils around here and occasionally in those circles someone talks. To be honest I was a real skeptic, we have black bear starting to move back in the state and I figured that was what people were seeing. I went to check on an old abandoned rock quarry where a person had the hell scared out of them. I thought the person saw a bear and went looking for any sign of one so that person was not mortified to go into the woods.
The area I went to is along the Platte and is heavily wooded, hilly and usually filled with animals. It is very near on old Native American village that at one time held several hundred folks. It is that nice of place and filled with that much food sources that can support a lot of people. Nebraska is not the Great American Desert.
Anyway, I never did see bigfoot. But I did see something that made zero sense at all and made me re-change my position. It was dead there. Usually in that spot you see some signs of animals. Except for the occasional bird there was nothing. Then there was the squirrel. At first I thought it was a bird kill. There was this dead squirrel in a tree sitting up about ten feet on a branch just draped over it. Usually a bird tears the hell out of the carcass. Upon a closer look it looked like it was one bite on it. The whole belly and most of the sides were gone, all the insides were gone and all that was left was the head, its front legs a strip of skin leading back, its back legs and its tail. It looked like a human shaped but huge ass bite out of it. It’s little ribs were broken and sheared through. Hindsight I should have taken a photo but I got the hell out of there. I was really creeped the hell out at that moment.

Very cool! Would you be willing to share the location? I live in NE.

Hey Rodney – I live in NE. I’d love to know where you saw this squirrel, and if possible, where you friend had his/her encounter. Thanks!

The dead squirrel would be a frightening sight and enough to spook anyone. I wouldn’t have hung around either. And the fact that it was so silent is not a good sign. I am originally from Iowa and there have been some recent sightings along the Raccoon River (near Ames) in the middle of the state. Thanks for sharing!
