Chimps in Missouri?

A listener writes “I’m a regular listener of your show and really enjoy it. I wanted to ask you a question about a strange experience I had back around 2015.

I was studying biology at UMKC in Kansas City, MO and had just finished exams. I felt like having some peace and quiet away from the city where I could spend an hour or two looking up at the stars. I drove to Pertle Springs park in Warrensburg MO and did just that. While I was stargazing I was alarmed because all of a sudden all around me in the woods I heard what I can only describe as a troop of chimpanzees screaming at each other like what you see on the Discovery channel. Except it was loud and very real.

My first thought was that chimps had escaped from the zoo. I’ve heard barred owls can sound kind of like that but this sounded EXACTLY like chimps and lots of them, maybe 20 or so. Then it stopped. I also saw some strange lights in the sky too.

P.s. I dont drink or use drugs. I’m a pilot, a hunter, veteran, and a doctor.”

You may have heard what Ron Morehead recorded of one angry at another sasquatch, that Matt Moneymaker coined the words “Samurai Chatter” as opposed to another dialect that sounds somewhat like Native American language. It could have been a group having an argument in that Samurai chatter that sounded like a group of frenzied chimps. I’ve heard one make that sound before and I saw the one that did it. In my written report I noted it sounded like a chimp temper tantrum.

i love how they say “i dont drink or use drugs. I’m a pilot, a hunter, veteran, and a doctor.” like those types of people dont drink or use lol i believe them but saying you are those types to prove you arent a user is silly. All walks of life drink or use.

Jordan, gotcha but I think he was trying to prove some credibility since most folks feel so awkward about coming forward with experiences.
I live fairly close to Missouri and need to look up this location/area to see how close it is to Mark Twain National Park where there are lots of reports. I have a brother who lives south and a bit east of Missouri, he goes fishing a lot and he has heard some CRAZY stuff .
    Thanks for sharing!

I wonder if anyone has any info if there’s a correlation between electronic devices (phone, gps, digital camera, health wristwatch etc.) and encounters or missing people and if they we’re potentially carrying one or not. It’s odd we have all this tech but we can’t make available a simple or cheap one button locator beacon to wear on a necklace or something for emergency purposes? The only thing I’ve heard of is where you gotta be a pilot and buy some multi thousand dollar watch and maybe even have a license to own it… what’s up with that?
