In Washington state, 2011 my dad, brother, uncle and I were camped along the Twisp River in Okanogan National Forest towards the end of September. It was about 10 at night. My brother, dad and uncle walked upstream about 100 yards to wash dishes in the river. I stayed at camp sitting by the fire. The only light was from the stars and the fire. About 10 minutes went by after they left. In the fire light I saw the outline of a man walking fast down the road from the direction my dad brother and uncle were. It walked the road right past our camp and kept going. It was dark and I just figured it was one of them. Until less than a minute later they came walking down together from the same direction it came from. There wasn’t anybody camped within 5 miles of us in any direction. So there is my second sighting. Might be nothing, might be something. Hard to say because it was so dark.

I see your point of thinking,it makes complete sense that when you are the only ones out there for miles and here comes a stranger in the night in the middle of the Nat. Forest yeah I think it would be a safe bet to keep your distance from any ridge walkers that prowl the night forests.

How can anyone say for sure that they were the only campers in the area? There are plenty of people that hike into locations and camp overnight without setting up tents or starting fires. Here in Maine we have a portion of the Appalachian Trail and people hike it with only a sleeping bag, water, and food stuff. They don’t necessarily show up in SUV’s with RV’s or 10 person tents in tow. I think most of these types of accounts are just mistaken identity.

Thank you for enlightening us all with your infinite wisdoms, we are all so much better off for it. The writer said could be nothing, could be something, so he or she never said it was a Bigfoot….
