The Kentucky Bigfoot Research Organization writes “Just before her Bigfoot sighting, Betsy heard a possible tree knock and whistles. She also noticed some odd tree formations.

Being fairly new to Bigfoot research, she wasn’t sure, however when she got back in her vehicle to leave, there he was, a huge, muscular, black-haired creature staring at her from the woods! It was a sunny afternoon and she could see a lot of the amazing details, so Betsy contacted a sketch artist and worked diligently with him to get what she saw that exciting afternoon down on paper.”

Kentucky Bigfoot Research Organization writes “There’s been many Bigfoot sightings in Ohio County Kentucky, including amazing game camera photos captured on the same road as Colton’s first sighting! We’ve seen the five incredible game camera pictures, however the owner would not share the SD card for evaluation and he’s unfortunately passed away.

Here’s the exclusive interview with Colton who had two sightings in the Summer of 2016 and the Fall of 2020. Included in this interview is a sketch (by Terry Thomas) of one of the game camera photos (which was leaked, but we don’t have permission to share).”

The Irish Star reports “Mount Erebus, the world’s tallest volcano located in Antarctica , is causing a stir among scientists with its daily ejection of gold. The volcano typically spews out steam, gases and rocks , but it’s the tiny specks of crystallized gold that are intriguing experts. These golden particles have been found as far as 621 miles from the site, and they are worth up to £5,000, or over $6,000.

Standing at a towering 12,448 feet tall, Mount Erebus is one of Antarctica’s 138 active volcanoes. NASA scientists believe that the molten rock easily rises up from the Earth’s interior, carrying gold particles to the surface where they crystallise in the sub-zero temperatures.

According to GeologyHub, “Mount Erebus is one of a number of volcanoes which actively produces gold during its eruptive activity. However, it is the only volcano which produces solid gold particles instead of the material being disseminated or occurring in a gas/liquid form.”

Scientists have suggested that these particles then travel through the air, as the “gold dust” has been found 621 miles away from the source.

The volcano reportedly produces 64.4lbs of gold each year, worth around $2m (£1.5m). However, anyone hoping to cash in should be warned that mining the gold would be too dangerous due to the threat of random volcanic explosions.

The volcano also sporadically ejects rock in strombolian eruptions.

This fiery beast is believed to be the southernmost active volcano on the planet, towering over the McMurdo research base on Ross Island. Erebus holds the distinction of being the most famous peak in Antarctica.

The volcano also features a lava lake in its summit crater that’s been active since at least 1972. Due to its isolated location, satellites are mainly used to keep an eye on its activity.”

Live Science writes “Virginia’s “rainbow swamp” is a flooded forest whose waters take on a magical, multicolored sheen in the winter months. Under certain lighting conditions, the swamp turns into a giant, luminous rainbow broken up by the shadows of bald cypress trees (Taxodium distichum) and cypress knees — cone-shaped humps that grow vertically above the trees’ roots.

The rainbow swamp is one of many along the Bald Cypress Trail at First Landing State Park, which is located where English colonists first landed in 1607, according to the park’s website . Most days of the year, the swamp looks like any other forested wetland — rather murky and opaque. But occasionally, in late fall and winter, the stagnant pool puts on a dazzling light show.

Quick Facts

Name: Bald cypress swamp

Location: First Landing State Park, Virginia Beach, Virginia

Coordinates: 36.90671813879774, -76.02093550787815

Why it’s incredible: Under the right light in winter, the swamp becomes a giant rainbow.

The rainbow effect results from leaf decay in the swamp during fall and winter, according to a Facebook post from March 2024. “The trees drop their needlelike leaves in the fall that decompose in the swamp and the resulting matter, when hit at just the right angle by sunlight, gives off this prismatic appearance,” park representatives wrote in the post.

Bald cypress leaves contain natural oils that ooze into the swamp as the leaves break down. The oils then separate from the water and form a film on the surface that reflects light much like a puddle of gasoline would. Biological processes in the soil, resulting from bacteria breaking down iron, can also contribute to the rainbow effect, Jeff Ripple, a former Florida swamp walk leader, told the BBC in 2018.

The longer the swamp goes undisturbed, the stronger the effect grows. “Movement by sheet flow, current or wind disturbance would destroy the fragile rainbow film,” Ripple said, adding that the effect is usually visible in smaller pools of water.

Rainbow swamps occur throughout southern US states, overlapping with the range of bald cypress trees. Tallahassee, Florida, for example, is home to a flooded forest that lights up like a disco ball around mid-February. “I have seen this occur about 10 times in the 40 years I have lived here,” Michael Hussey, a retired engineer who owns the land the swamp sits on, told the BBC. “It’s beautiful to see.”

A listener writes “Hey Wes, I’ve been listening for just a couple weeks or so but have really been enjoying the podcast. I recently listened to the episode about the guy who thinks his grandfather was feeding the creatures he was seeing. After listening to that episode, it made me realize that maybe my grandfather knew more than what he was saying.

So, a little bit of backstory, I’m from a little town in the upper peninsula of Michigan and have been hunting and just living in the woods my whole life so I’m pretty comfortable with the woods. So back in 2015 I was hunting with my younger cousin just like we always did during deer season, it was about 6am so it’s still pretty dark out and we had been sitting in the blind for about an hour at this point and things were going pretty routine, the woods are calm besides the occasional squirrel running around the blind and the bugs making their sounds, when all the sudden the woods went silent, so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

I looked at my cousin and we were just like that’s odd but maybe there’s coyotes or a wolf around making all the prey animals hide away. but as I’m sitting there in the dead silence I’m thinking “why would the bugs go completely silent?” After the initial silence, it was about 20 minutes when this loud knock in the woods what sounds like 20-30 yards away, and then was repeated 3-4 more times. after that the woods came back to life about 10 minutes later. After sitting in the blind all morning, we went to my grandpas for lunch. my grandfather hunts in the field 100 yards to the left of where we were sitting so I asked him “hey did you hear anything weird this morning, he looked over at both me and my cousin and goes “No…..why what you hear??” kind of in a concerned yet mad way. I just told him I heard some loud knocking. he then told us to just forget it and he walked away.

So we finished off that deer season as usual, but after the season we usually fix up the blinds and take care of stuff for next season. Now a little bit about my grandpas land, he owns 80 acres of swamp, pine forest, and open fields that used to be corn fields surrounded by the swamps and forest. so it’s really great hunting land but also extremely thick where you cant see 30 ft in front of you.

I asked my grandpa while working on the blinds if I could hunt his old brush blind that sits in the middle of the swamp and where he shot his biggest whitetail buck, and he hasn’t sat there since 2001 which is the year after he shot this buck, so I figured id try sitting there since it’s prime deer area. when I asked him if I could hunt there he looked at me with this angry and concerned look the same way he looked and my cousin and i when we asked about the noises we heard and he says “you don’t dare go to that part of the property and you definitely don’t hunt there, now don’t bring it up again” that weirded me out but just figured the blind was gone or just no good for hunting.

my next experience was august of 2022 when me and my father heard this odd howl, whoop sound idk how to describe it but I did get it on video which I will send you. we were sitting in the living room watching tv when all the sudden this extremely loud and deep howling or whooping started from the woods behind the house which is in the direction of that swamp blind my grandfather doesn’t allow us to go near. so I grabbed my phone and started recording through the screen door.

This experience occurred during the past deer season in November. My usual hunting blind had collapsed, and having not hunted for over five years since my time in the Marines, it was natural that upon returning home, I wanted to hunt. so I decided to use my grandfathers swamp blind, the one he told me not to go to. Now this is around 5pm I walk in to the blind and get situated, I was sitting there for about an hour and a half when I start hearing a grunting sound almost like a bear, the woods are dead silent, not a bug humming, when I notice this hairy bear like animal by a big toppled over pine tree and this tree had been dead for awhile so it was reddish brown and this animal was crouched half behind it looking towards me, I grabbed my binoculars and looked at this thing, when I looked at it i could see it wasn’t a bear.

It then stood up on 2 feet and I’m about 50 yards from this thing. when this thing stood up it was like nothing i had ever seen before, it was massive and just super muscular. I think I might have jumped in my chair when it stood up because it turned away and started running and this thing was so fast, it was there one second and gone the next. I sat there in silence just trying to rationalize what I just saw, about 5 minutes after it ran away I heard this blood curdling scream that made me freeze, i then called my grandpa to pick me up and he asked where I was so I told him his old blind, after i told him where i was he hung up and was there so fast in his ranger, as I was getting into the side by side we heard that thing scream from what sounded like right next to us, we drove off so fast, as were leaving my grandpa looked over at me and said “you seen it didn’t you”

I then knew, I should’ve listened.”

Tonight I will be welcoming Brent to the show. Brent describes this encounter in Washington State when he was a boy. Brent’s grandmother was taking of him and his siblings during this storm. Brents older brother and uncle stepped outside and ran into this creature.

Brent’s grandmother made everyone go downstairs and said in one room all night. Many years later Brent describes this roadside crossing in California. Brent writes “The second encounter (I believe I have had three) is this: myself and three other teenagers (1992ish) were driving (I was driving 17ish) through the Redwoods in Mendocino county. We were in the deep redwood. about 6 miles from the Navarro Beach

This was about 3-4 in the morning. We had planned to camp on Navarro beach (about 10 miles south of the village of Mendocino). A wind blew in and sleeping was impossible. although we had sleeping bags, the Pacific winds chilled us to the bone.

My girlfriend (now wife of over 30 years) said she wanted to drive home. We lived in Ukiah, California. This is about a one hour drive.

We were just kids and owned a VW Fastback 72 i think. At any rate, I was a skater punk and I installed a Stinger exhaust pipe. The thing was as loud as the night was long!

Well at about mile 6 or so (we know the exact spot but now live on the big island so i guesstimate) on hwy 128 our crappy vw started running poorly. The stinger is an important part of this story.

The VW started to sputter (not uncommon) So I pushed the clutch in and full on gunned the gas. This is an important tid bit….

From about 100 feet in front us, (the highway turns in this area are 25 mph recommended) out steps a monster.

I lost it. My foot had the clutch fully engaged and the other foot was on the gas. The “Stinger” exhaust sounded like five million firecrackers were exploding!

Time stopped…

it was mad. Wes… I can see it right now. This thing walked out in front of us. It glared at us. I was so frozen. We basically missed this thing by about 12 inches.

My wife was in the passenger seat. For the past 30 years I thought the thing disappeared into the redwood forest. But she told me a couple months ago that, no it didn’t vanish, as it passed within a few feet of her door, it fell to all fours and crawled into the redwood thicket.

Dude, this has changed me. I look forward to talking to you”

Axton writes “Hey Wes, I’m writing you because years back when my brother and I were in our teens hunting rabbits in the desert in Utah. We had a wild encounter with a creature that definitely wasn’t a Sasquatch or any known wolf.

I remember him and I walking a line and I was over a slight hill to where I couldn’t see him, he started calling my name frantically and I ran up the hill to see what was going on, I honestly thought he came across a big snake or something judging by his voice. When I came up over the hill I asked him what the hell was going on and he pointed in the direction east of us and there was a giant jet black long haired wolf like created hauling ass across the field all I could tell is that it went passed him and startled him quite a bit. My brother is quite the tough guy and it freaked me out because of its size.

I would give or take the creature was about 10-12 feet from nose to tail if not longer, the most jet black coloration I’ve ever seen in my life and moving at a speed that was not imaginable. We started shooting at it and I know for a fact we hit it at least a few times and the damn thing never flinched. It was absolutely wild, it got through the field and into a ravine and never seen again. To this day me and my brother contemplate what the hell we saw experienced. Wes in the desert we were in there is no wolves, only coyotes, and it wasn’t a coyote. We thought it could’ve been someone’s dog that got away but there was no people around only us… I have no explanation whatsoever but I can tell you what we saw wasn’t a normal creature whatsoever.”

I will also be welcoming John to the show. John and his family had a strange encounter with something. I will let John go into it. John writes “I’ve been listening to, and enjoying your show for a couple of years. I recently listened to an episode where a gentleman spoke about hearing a strange noise, seeing a black figure and not quite knowing what it was, and you mentioned to him that in your experience, some listeners may hear his story and respond with a similar experience. I’m that listener! Me , my daughter, my son and their friend had a similar experience. If you like I can write a synopsis of what happened to us and send it to you.”

The US Sun reports “A DIVER has discovered a series of mysterious “pyramids” on the ocean floor, dubbing it the “real life Atlantis”. The hidden gem was undiscovered until a local diver, Kihachiro Aratake, made the stunning discovery. Aratake was diving off the coast of Yonaguni Island in Japan when he spotted the towering underwater pyramids.

Speaking to BBC Global , he said: “I was very emotional when I found it. “I realized that this would become a treasure of Yonaguni Island. I kept it a secret. “I didn’t tell anyone on my staff.”

Also known as the Yonaguni Monument, one of the formations has been nicknamed the ‘Atlantis’ due to its size and structure. The stunning underwater formation is 164ft long and 65ft wide and features spiraling steps and flat surfaces. The mysterious underwater structure has baffled locals, with some believing the pyramids were the remains of a lost civilization.

However, not everyone is convinced that the monument was man-made or if it was a natural formation shaped by the ocean currents. Scientists currently believe the monument is thousands of years old, and have questioned whether humans would have been able to make such impressive formations so long ago. A group of scientists led by Masaaki Kimura from Ryukyu University began researching the mysterious rock formations after the discovery was made in 1987. The research scientist said there was vast evidence of man’s influence on the structures.

Professor Kimura said: “I think it’s very difficult to explain away their origins as being purely natural. Meanwhile, Professor Ichhi from the same university told Aratake that he had discovered something “puzzling”. Professor Robert Schoch from Boston University believes the structure is man-made. “The rocks of this group are also criss-crossed by numerous sets of parallel, vertically oriented joints in the rock. “These joints are natural.”

Someone else who’s not convinced the structure is man-made is diver Kenzo Watanabe. The diver believes that what he witnessed was “not natural”. He said: “What first triggered me to go to Yonaguni is that if it was appointed as an archaeological site, it was rumoured that we wouldn’t be able to dive there anymore.

“So I decided to go while I still could.

“I got together with a group of diving instructors that I’m close with and we all took vacation time to go.

“After seeing it, there’s no way I think it’s not man-made. “Especially with all the flat surfaces. It was really overwhelming, with so many different surfaces and symmetrical shapes.

“I think it’s definitely not natural. I really wondered how it was made. “It made me think about the kind of tools people may have used back then.

“It’s so mysterious.”

A listener writes “Good morning Wes, I would like to introduce myself to you. I would like to tell you about my brother and I’s experience in the woods of Louisiana.

First, it all started with just my brother Josh who was hunting at a Wildlife Management Area. He was at his portable deer blind and noticed an animal walk to a fallen tree and squat down behind the tree and looked like it was foraging.

He started texting me about it and I told him to try and record it the best he could. He wasn’t for sure if it was a bear or a man but then it stood up and walked away. He called me and he walked over to where it was and said that it left impressions in the mud which he also recorded. Here’s a video recording of it that he submitted to Bigfoot Evidence who sent either himself or someone out there to meet Josh at the site. They found foot impressions with possible dermal ridges but I never saw them nor Josh after that day. Bigfoot Evidence seemed to want to sensationalize his experience adding details that were never discussed with Josh which really caused him to not want to talk about his experience at all. In the video attached in the description it says that Josh locked eyes with the creature for 15 mins and than it panicked and rushed out of the area/ (that never happened)

In March of 2013 I came to visit Josh and I convinced him we should go back out there at night and do what the Finding Bigfoot people do and do some tree knocks and whoops. So we did. We traveled to 32.07421° N, 91.40694° W at approximately 9 pm that night on a ATV to see what we could see. We made sure to make sure our flashlights where charged and brought a 2×4 to knock on wood. So we drove down this old logging road till we came to a fallen tree that laid across the road. We got off the ATV and waited in darkness for about 10 mins. I told Josh I would do my first long whoop and see what happens.

I let out the call and in the fair distance to the right of us we hear some coyotes start yipping but then far off in the front of us we hear a whoop back. I told josh lets sit here in the dark. We sat in silence listening as you do when you deer hunt. About 10 mins pass and I do another call and we got an immediate answer to the front of us but this time it was closer. Josh starts to get excited and was asking what the hell was that? I told him lets wait a little bit more and do a knock the wood against the fallen tree. We waited about 5 mins and I did three knocks which we got a response kinda off to the left front of us. The woods go silent. Dead silent. We start to hear talking in front of us. Almost like gibberish and there are maybe 2-3 voices. One voice moves left of us and the other moves right. It sounds like it was maybe 200 yards away but growing louder. Josh turns on his flashlight to see if he can anything but the fallen tree is really in the way and neither one of us wanted to be on the other side separated from the ATV but his flashlight begins to die pretty quickly and it isn’t very strong.

So he turns it off. We are in darkness again and we are hearing what sounds like walking towards us on both sides of the logging road. Then things start falling around us. Thuds in the dirt in front of us and we realize that sticks are being thrown. So we back toward the ATV and I told Josh I wanted to try something and I let out a “scream call” and in an instant we hear this deep growl to the right of us and what sounds like a large body stepping into water . WE FREAK out and get on the ATV but he couldn’t get it to start. It sounded like the woods came to life around us and most definitely something on both sides of the road moving towards us. It was the longest seconds in my life sitting on the back of the ATV with my back to the dark. He got it started and we hightailed it out of there.

We really haven’t talked much about it. I stopped going out at night and doing those calls. I used to do it with a few college kids that was in my college ministry at the time but I haven’t since that night.

Our great grandmother was Choctaw and I grew up with her never letting us go out at night because that’s when “The old ones” is what she would say would come out and they took people.

My father seen two in the kisatchie forest preserve when he was around 20 years old and I guess between him and my great grandmother. I’ve always had an interest in the phenomenon that surrounds this topic.

Now my family listened to your podcast sometimes when we are traveling for an hour or so and we try to rationalize what people experience. As I’ve tried to rationalize what I’ve experienced.”

For centuries, death has been viewed as the inevitable end of life—a natural conclusion where the body ceases to function and decays. This is a biological fact of life. However, a new theory suggest that death, as we perceive it, may not be real and could merely be an illusion created by our consciousness.

The observer shapes reality

At the core of this argument lies a fundamental principle of quantum physics: the idea that the observer plays a crucial role in shaping reality. Numerous experiments, such as the famous double-slit experiment, have demonstrated that particles behave differently when observed compared to when they are not.

When scientists observe a particle passing through two slits, it behaves like a solid object, going through one slit or the other. However, without observation, the same particle acts like a wave and goes through both slits simultaneously. This phenomenon implies that consciousness directly influences how we perceive reality.

This idea is further supported by Heisenberg’s uncertainty principle, which states that it is impossible to measure both the position and momentum of a particle simultaneously. This limitation suggests that our reality is not as objective as we might think. The behavior of particles and, by extension, the universe itself may be shaped by the presence of an observer.

Biocentrism and the role of consciousness

Biocentrism, a theory proposed by Dr. Robert Lanza, takes these quantum principles a step further. According to biocentrism, life and consciousness are central to the fabric of the universe.

Lanza argues that space and time are not objective entities but constructs of our consciousness. In other words, reality, including the concept of death, exists only because we perceive it. (“Biocentrism Posits That Death Is Merely Transport into Another Universe.” bigthink.com”)

Lanza’s theory challenges our conventional understanding of life and death. If space and time are merely tools created by our minds to make sense of the universe, then death, as a time-bound event, may not be real. Instead, it could be a product of our limited perception. (“Is Death an Illusion? Evidence Suggests Death Isn’t the End.” Psychologytoday.com”)

Immortality beyond time and space

One of the most intriguing part of this theory is the idea that immortality does not necessarily mean living forever in a linear sense but rather existing outside of time altogether.

In a world where space and time are fluid constructs of consciousness, the concept of death loses its meaning. This idea aligns with recent quantum experiments showing that particles can communicate instantaneously across vast distances, as if space and time do not separate them.

These experiments suggest that the boundaries we place on life, death, and the universe may be artificial, shaped by our perception rather than by any fundamental laws of nature. If time and space are not as rigid as we believe, it opens the door to the possibility that death, too, is not a definitive end.

The many-worlds interpretation

The “many-worlds” interpretation of quantum mechanics offers another perspective on death. According to this theory, every possible outcome of an event occurs in a different universe. In this multiverse, all possible realities exist simultaneously. This means that even if we die in one universe, we continue to exist in others. From this standpoint, death, as we perceive it, is not the end but rather a transition to a different reality.

The idea that death is merely an illusion created by our consciousness offers a new way of understanding existence. Quantum physics has already demonstrated that reality is far more complex and mysterious. Nevertheless, while Dr. Lanza’s biocentrism provides a fascinating alternative to our traditional views of life and death, it lacks a solid mathematical foundation.

The tablet consisted of records of sick leaves, many the same as today, others are mind-boggling. Taking sick leave is nothing new for employees. In fact, the practice has existed for centuries. A tablet from 1250 BCE, now housed in the British Museum, recorded the sick days and leave taken by Egyptian workers. According to My Modern Met, the tablet, known as an Ostracon, listed workers’ names and reasons for their absences. While many excuses resemble those of today, some are quite surprising.

The tablet documented 40 workers, listing their names and dates of absence marked in red, according to Medium. Some reasons were typical, like illness or caring for family, but others were more unusual. Several workers, for instance, reported being stung by scorpions. The list, translated into English, included over 20 reasons. One entry read, “Horneffer: Winter, 2nd month, 13th day-17th day (With the boss).”

Another worker had quite a few entries of absence. They were recorded as “Sawadjyt: Spring, 3rd month, 23rd day-24th day (With the boss), Spring, 4th month, 16th day (Daughter had her period), Winter, 1st month, 14th day-15th day (Offering to the God), Winter, 1st month, 24th day-25th day (Libation for father), 26th day-28th day (With the boss).” Being with the boss or carrying out tasks for the boss was another repetitive reason for absence among workers. Another record is that of menstruation of the women in the family. The latter was taken from a different perspective back then and men were required to be home during this time.

Other records consisted of building the house, looking after parents and having other chores and tasks to do. Workers even excused themselves to make offerings to God and other traditional practices or rituals as per the importance at the time. However, the most stunning reasons were the mummification of family members and beer brewing. While the former is no longer used in today’s corporate world, the latter could cause havoc if used as an excuse! However, for Egyptians, both tasks were crucial back in the day. Mummification was done as a traditional practice among Egyptians. Brewing beer was considered a duty since it is said to have been the daily drink. The beverage was deemed a principal food and was consumed for celebrations and festivals, per the British Museum.

Workers at pyramids relied on beer and were granted 10 pints daily. Apart from its heavy consumption, it was also associated with the Egyptian Gods. Hathor, the goddess of love, dance and beauty, was also known as “The Lady of Drunkenness.” Given beer’s importance, it’s understandable that workers were excused to brew it. While several excuses resonate even today, many offer a dive into the Egyptians’ rich culture and lifestyle. @AlisonFisk shared a post on X with an image of the tablet. She wrote, “Reasons recorded for worker absence on this 3,200-year-old ancient Egyptian attendance register include ‘brewing beer,’ ‘stung by a scorpion’ and ‘embalming brother!’”
