From The Shadows writes “A Vampire and a Pale Crawler are the subjects in this week’s midweek paranormal double interview episode from South Bend, Indiana. Luma joins us to share a sighting she had in the early morning hours only a few weeks ago. It shook her so bad she thought she was going crazy. Vaughn then tells us about an event that he can’t forget.

One evening while on security patrol he narrowly avoided hitting what sounds like could be a Pale Crawler.”

A listener writes “Here’s the background on the hunt. A friend of mine has been dealing with a serious hog problem on his property along the Pearl River, south of Jackson, Mississippi. There’s a large swamp bordering the river where the hogs are heavily established.

I set up bait in a field with a cellular trail camera that alerts me when hogs come in. While waiting, I stay in his fifth wheel camper on the main property right along the river.

On the night in question, I was in the camper when the trail camera sent photos showing hogs in the field. I got my gear and stepped outside to begin the roughly half-mile walk in. As soon as I exited the camper, I noticed how unnaturally quiet it was. I’m a retired law enforcement officer, and one thing I was always taught was to trust that sixth sense. An old instructor used to say it would save your life and in my experience, he was right. Without exaggeration, I had a very uneasy feeling.

I continued on, moved into position, and ended up killing two hogs.

Later that night, well into the early morning I dragged the hogs back to my friend’s skinning rack near the river. I cleaned the smaller hog and took the backstraps from the larger one. While I was working, I heard something in the woods I couldn’t identify. It was unlike anything I’ve heard before a series of rapid, low grunts coming from roughly 50 to 70 yards inside the tree line.

After finishing, I dragged both carcasses from the rack to a nearby ravine about 50 yards away, with a drop of 30–40 feet, and pushed them over. The larger hog weighed around 225 pounds, and the smaller one what remained of it was maybe 15 pounds with the guts exposed. Nothing else unusual happened the rest of that night.

I returned four days later expecting to find the remains at the bottom of the ravine. Instead, both carcasses were completely gone. What stood out to me was the total lack of evidence no drag marks, no disturbed ground, no scattered remains. Nothing.

So my question is this: if there were something unusual in that area, in your opinion, would it be safe to continue night hunting there alone, making that half-mile walk to the field?

To be clear, I never saw anything, smelled anything, or heard footsteps or movement following me that night. The only things that stood out were the unnatural silence, the strange vocalizations near the skinning rack, and the complete disappearance of the hog remains without any obvious signs of predation.”

A listener writes “I was listening to episode 1226 yesterday, and your guest mentioned hearing tongue-popping noises from what he believed was a rock ape in the Solomon Islands. That’s the first time I’ve ever heard that type of behavior described either on your podcast or in the hundreds of encounters I’ve read on the BFRO website.

I actually have a short recording about 30 seconds of the loudest tongue-popping sounds I’ve ever heard.

We bought our retirement home in southern Maine last year, and shortly after moving in, I started exploring a large wooded tract behind the property. About 200 yards to the northeast, there’s a steep ridge I wanted to check out. We had only been there about two weeks, and this was my first chance to really explore.

As I reached the base of the ridge, my phone rang. It turned out to be spam, so I hung up right away. The moment I put my phone back in my pocket, I heard incredibly loud tongue-popping noises coming from the ridge above me. The sound was shocking like some massive NFL nose tackle clearing a clogged toilet while sounding an intruder alarm.

It went on for about three minutes, though I only managed to capture a few seconds of it. At first, I couldn’t find an audio recording app, so I ended up recording video just to get the sound. After it stopped and I turned off the recording, I tried to mimic the noise to see if I’d get a response, but I couldn’t come close to matching the volume. There was no reply.

When I got home, I extracted the audio and even ran it through ChatGPT to see if it could identify the source. Between the rain in the background and the poor audio quality, it couldn’t determine what made the sound. What’s strange is that while it was incredibly loud in person, it barely comes through in the recording.

I’ve never encountered another person in that area, and since it’s private land, it’s unlikely anyone else would have been out there.”

Tampa Jay writes “I visited the Expedition Bigfoot Museum in Blue Ridge Georgia for a full tour of one of the most unique roadside attractions in the country. From alleged Bigfoot evidence and Sasquatch sightings to detailed exhibits, this place might make even skeptics question if Bigfoot is real.

If you’re into cryptozoology, mysteries, or hidden gems in the Georgia mountains, this is a must-see. Much ahead!”

Tonight I will be speaking with Mendy who is from Iowa. Over the last 12 years they have had repeated activity on their farm. Over the years they have seen the creatures a couple of times. Below is the account.

A listener shared the following account: They’ve lived on an old farm in southeast Iowa for over a decade and have experienced frequent unexplained activity during that time. It’s something they rarely talk about, but they sometimes wonder if their presence or perhaps their silence has somehow drawn Sasquatch to the property.

After speaking further with the witness, she explained that the strange occurrences began shortly after they moved in. At first, she believed the house might be haunted. There were repeated incidents of the house being slapped or struck, often with no visible cause. At times, they also heard what sounded like someone running across the roof.

Over the years, they repeatedly saw a figure a man dressed entirely in black, wearing a hoodie watching the farm and the house. This began when they had just moved in and didn’t yet know their neighbors, leaving them unsure of who it could be. Eventually, they noticed similar figures moving in and out of the cornfields. Interestingly, when the fields were planted with beans instead of corn, the activity seemed to decrease.

After several years of these experiences, they began to suspect the presence of Bigfoot. At one point, her husband placed a Sasquatch cutout on a tree. The following day, they found it torn down the leg still attached to the tree, while the rest had been thrown into the yard. It was covered in rocks, as if something had deliberately pelted it.

The witness said they attempted to install lights around the property, but the creatures would tear them down. She also tried setting up cameras, but that didn’t deter the activity. She said the game cameras would repeatedly fail for unknown reasons.

Spoke to the witness and he has agreed to come on the show. A listener writes “I recently attended a meeting of my local Purple Heart chapter for combat wounded veterans. There were six of us in total three from the Global War on Terror and three Vietnam veterans.

What stood out was that every Vietnam veteran who had been wounded shared that they had seen what they called a “rock ape.”

As they told their stories, the rest of us those from GWOT, myself included remained quiet.  After the meeting, I spoke privately with another GWOT veteran, who admitted he had also witnessed unusual things while serving as an Army instructor on a base.

My own experience happened on the eastern shore of Cougar Reservoir in Oregon. I was camping with my family when, close to midnight, something began approaching our campsite. I first heard heavy footsteps about 100 meters away. As it drew closer, I realized I had to stand my ground. It was moving toward us steadily not sprinting, but deliberately giving my ex-wife time to turn on the SUV’s lights and get our two toddlers out of the tent and into the vehicle, about 40 feet away.

I positioned myself between the approaching figure and my family. It came down from a hill toward our campsite by the water, a distance I later confirmed to be about 100 meters. When it got within roughly 40 meters, I fired a couple of warning shots with my 9mm, though it felt completely inadequate. My plan, if it came closer, was to aim for the eye shine to buy my family more time.

At around 20 30 meters, I could feel the vibration of its footsteps through the ground beneath my bare feet. Strangely, it kept its eyes covered as it approached. The SUV’s headlights were shining directly at it on high beams, yet I couldn’t see any eye reflection. I’ve never been able to shake the feeling that it understood what I was trying to do.

It stopped about 12 feet in front of me and remained there while we finished loading the car. Once everyone was inside, I slowly backed away, got into the SUV, and drove us out along the narrow road leading from the campsite.

For most of the encounter, I actually thought I was dealing with an elephant something large that could move quietly despite its size. I heard no brush breaking, despite the dense vegetation only the sound of its footsteps. I didn’t smell anything, even when it was close. When I finally saw it clearly, my first thought was that it looked almost artificial, like something constructed. It took a while to come to terms with what I saw.

I have no doubt that these creatures exist as living, physical beings. What unsettles me most is the pattern described by the Vietnam veterans each of them had seen one shortly before being wounded in separate incidents. My own encounter came much later, as did the other GWOT veteran’s.

Over the years, I’ve spoken with hundreds of veterans, often asking those with extensive time in the wilderness if they’ve ever experienced anything unusual. Most say no, or mention only distant, unexplained sounds. But in that room of Purple Heart recipients, only one of the six had not directly described seeing something. The rest of us had encountered what appeared to be a large, upright walking ape. Half of those sightings reportedly occurred just days before being wounded. To be fair, the one individual who didn’t share may simply have chosen to remain silent.”

A listener writes “I believe it was the summer of 1987. My boyfriend at the time and is now my ex husband and I went camping at a family member’s place in Cook’s State Forest in Pennsylvania. The camp sat along the side of a mountain, about a mile from the river.

Late that evening, after the fire had burned down, I heard something moving in the woods. At first, I thought it might be the same porcupine that had wandered through camp earlier, but this was different. Whatever it was sounded larger. Every so often, it seemed to grab onto a tree and shake it. These didn’t sound like small trees you could hear the wood creak and crack as they swayed. The motion wasn’t violent, more like the slow, heavy movement of a large tree bending in the wind.

The sounds circled around our camp as the fire continued to die down. Then, suddenly, it let out the most bizarre scream I’ve ever heard. It started as a low rumble and rose into a high pitched shriek like a woman being murdered. It was incredibly loud and deeply unsettling. The scream ended with a long, drawn out exhale, almost like a hiss, but slower and more breath like than a cat’s.

My ex, who had been drinking heavily and was exhausted after a day of kayaking, barely reacted. He opened the tent, grabbed a nearby log, and tossed it onto the fire, sending up sparks and briefly reviving the flames. He later said he heard the sound but didn’t know what it was. He quickly fell back asleep.

I hoped the renewed fire would scare whatever it was away, but when the flames died down again, the scream came back. It happened two more times. After that, everything went quiet. I didn’t hear the trees move again, and I couldn’t tell if it had come closer or moved away.

I tried to wake him a couple of times, but he only grunted and stayed asleep. I was left lying there, shaken. The scream felt so intense, so full of emotion, that I could feel it in my body.

For years, I searched for an explanation some animal that could make a sound like that but I never found a match. Then, sometime in the 1990s, I saw a TV segment, I believe it was on Unsolved Mysteries about a woman who reported a prowler outside her home, describing a man in what looked like a fur coat peering through her window. When police arrived, one of the officers captured a scream over the dispatch radio while calling it in.

Hearing that recording nearly brought me to tears. It was the closest thing I had ever heard to what I experienced that night, if not the exact same sound.”

A listener writes “Wes, Good morning. First I would like to say love your show. The way you handle your guests, your insight and experiences make for a very informative and entertaining show.

I listened to ep:1245 yesterday morning and your guest said he heard a roar that sounded like a lion thru an elephant (if I remember correctly). The attached is what I capture march 7th in Florida while in an expedition with my homemade parabolic. I was wondering if this is close to what was heard.

Apologies for the poor quality, just started working with audio files. I was able to filter out an annoying bug.

Thank you.”

A listener writes “This happened about seventeen or eighteen years ago. At the time, I lived in a semi-remote, wooded area of North Idaho in an older double-wide manufactured home on five acres. My husband worked overnight shifts, so I was often alone in the house with our two young boys until early morning.

One night, while I was doing routine household chores, dishes, vacuuming, general cleaning. I noticed our yellow lab behaving unusually. Her hackles were raised and she was emitting a low, steady growl. She wasn’t panicked. She was alert.

She then turned toward the front of the house. Within seconds, knocking began on the front wall. Immediately after that, she began barking aggressively. Almost as quickly, she shifted her attention to the east side of the house. The barking moved with her and then the knocking followed.

This pattern continued around the entire perimeter of the house including the outer edges of the roof (we had a wrap around porch, so that’d explain the roof knocking) for approximately 30-45 seconds. The knocking was deliberate and paced. What stood out most was that my dog consistently reacted to each new location before the sound occurred, as though she was tracking movement outside the walls.

I did not look out the windows or go outside. I was too afraid. Later, my husband suggested it was kids playing a prank, but that explanation never fit. The movement was too fast and too coordinated to be people running around the house. It was also winter. When I checked the next day, there were no footprints or disturbances in the snow anywhere around the home.

At the time, I categorized the experience as something paranormal, largely because I have had other unexplained experiences throughout my life. However, after listening to your podcast, I’ve begun to reassess it. The knocking, the pacing, and the dog’s reaction are consistent with reports commonly attributed to Bigfoot behavior.

I will always regret not looking outside that night.

Years later, my oldest son has begun reporting his own unexplained experiences in wooded areas, unidentifiable sounds, tree knocking, and other disturbances he cannot explain.”

From The Shadows writes “A giant flying creature flew directly at Brock and his son on their way to basketball practice in Gahanna, Ohio. Was it a Pterodactyl or the cryptid known as a Ropen? Whatever it was flew within feet of them and was as big as the Jeep they were driving. Brock has experience with animals in the wild and has a scientific background so he was the perfect eyewitness.”

Spoke to the witness and he has agreed to come on the show. A listener writes “Recently, I was fishing on Lake Allatoona in Cartersville, Georgia. It was a Tuesday night, and my buddy and I were competing in a fishing tournament. The water level was down about eight feet, leaving roughly ten feet of exposed bank between the water and the woods terrain that’s usually submerged and covered in rocks.

As we were heading down the lake toward the back of a creek to fish, I looked up and spotted something about 150 yards ahead of us. It was large, completely black, and appeared to stand around eight or nine feet tall. I couldn’t make out any facial features just a massive, solid black figure.

At first, my brain struggled to process what I was seeing. I leaned forward and squinted, trying to get a better look. When I focused on it again, it was still there. That’s when I said out loud, “Oh my God, what is that?” I turned to my buddy beside me and asked, “Dude, do you see that?”

But the moment I looked back, it was gone. Just… gone. It didn’t run off or move behind anything it simply disappeared.

I know what I saw. I saw it twice once at a glance, and then again when I leaned forward to focus. My mind was trying to make sense of it, but there’s no explanation I can come up with. My buddy didn’t see it, but I did. And whatever it was, it vanished in an instant.

I can’t explain what it was or where it went but I know what I saw.”
