Biking incident left an Oregon woman with broken bones, memory loss

I have had this article sent to me several times. I do not feel this is Sasquatch related, I think this is human related. I think she was attacked by a person. I know the area well and the Columbia Slough River Trail is not as remote as it appears on maps. Here is the story:

An Oregon woman is searching for answers after an incident on a bike trail left her with facial fractures, seven missing teeth, a fractured jaw, brain bruising, a concussion, a broken hand and no memory of the incident.

KOIN-TV reported Tuesday that Skjelse Rapoch was riding her bike along the Columbia Slough River Trail when the incident happened. She told the station she slightly remembers leaving the house to meet her husband at the Portland International Raceway at around 8 p.m. when his friend found her injured.

“I got a phone call from my friend Eddie saying, ‘Hey, I found your wife. You need to get here right now,” Jeff Rapoch said. “She was in the middle of the path and her bike was on one side… she was sort of sitting up and looking around really kind of bewildered.”

Her husband thought at first that she went over the handlebars. But doctors examined her after she was given the basic life support and determined that her injuries weren’t consistent with someone who had been in a bike crash. She would’ve broken her neck or shoulder.

Jeff Rapoch said that he found a rock near where his wife crashed, which makes him think she could’ve been assaulted. However, police determined the bloodied rock wasn’t enough to investigate.

Skjelse Rapoch said she will now think twice about biking alone at night and said she was grateful for wearing a helmet while riding.

“It saved my life,” she added.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call Portland police.
