The Internet is buzzing about the History Channel’s fake bigfoot documentary Bigfoot Captured. The film was created with the same style as previous “docu-tainment” releases, the show has been met with mixed reviews of criticism and positivity. I have not seen it yet but I have heard several people review it. If you have not seen it here is a clip.

I would have to rely on someone who has had a personal experience to see what their reaction to this show would be…. I appreciate bringing the topic out in front of the public eye, but would like to know others thoughts on how this was presented. I don’t think that puny cage would hold a squatch for too long, especially if the one caught in was a juvenile…. Mom or pop would rip that open like a sardine can.

I watched it, the cage was flimsy and the thing that they called bigfoot that was captured looked hairy and that was about as close as a resemblance to bigfoot as you get, the face wasn’t even close, it looked like a big hairy guy

You know how Bigfoot is “supposed” to look, huh?

I watched it last night. I’m disappointed with the History channel . This is the second time they have run something that was supposed to be a true story and it was false. Does anyone remember Sons of Liberty? This claimed to be a documentary with some dramatizations. I might as well have been watching the Sy-Fi channel.
The “director” did show some good videos from the BF world that have been recorded over the years. They did point out some behaviors we see in the field. But too much of that show was BS and they didn’t bother pointing out which parts were “dramatized.”
I think it would have been better if they just advertised it as “based on real events.”

I watched some of it. I have to watch some of anything on the subject, and at least it was something that I haven’t seen 200+ times, so that alone got me childishly excited. I was thinking that there was no way that cage would hold up, and that there would’ve been others around that would’ve made those people wish that they had stayed home for the weekend. But, like I said, at least it was something new : )
When I saw “Exists” that movie was forking scary, as in it felt pretty realistic to me, and really touched on how I believe these creatures act. I don’t know, but I liked it a lot! I don’t claim to be someone that is difficult to entertain, just sayin’ : )

I am right there with ya brother! The movie EXISTS scared the bejesus out of me. I usually watch horror movies and make fun of the stuff, but that movie had me curled up in a ball in my chair watching the windows waiting for something to leap through. Made me feel like a little kid again. I e-mailed wes about that movie, I think it brought back allot of emotion from when I was a kid and had my encounter

I enjoyed it very much.
I recommend watching it, more bigfoot topics followed after the first show.
All of them were great.

I saw it, it was a good effort, should have focused on more compelling videos though. The Meldrum 3-D BF skeleton was good ( wonder who paid for that?) good acting I thought. Chest on BF actor is not even close on width according to most reports. I’ll give it a C +

I stopped watching after the showed the hairy dude in the cage “singing”.

I would have done the same….

This was the sorriest, flimsy, stupidest attempt at making a documentary type film I ever saw. If I was Jeff or John I would have been ashamed to have shown my professional buns on this poor attempt. That annoying Dan couldn’t figure himself out. First it’s a lion, and he’s brave, then he’s scared after a rock flies and trees breaks. Soo obnoxious. Then he finally calms down, in a state of confusion. That cage had to have been built by MOUNTAIN MONSTER crazies, it would not have held a male gorilla. Plastic or silicone face on the fake monster they did catch. I think these shows are made to make more people sarcastic and unbelieving to the real problem we have in the woods. I would like to hear what David Paulides thinks about a comedy show such as this. Thanks all and I’m sticking to it. Not scared.

OmniNews flash!…. The History Channel is owned by the same corporation who owns ABC, ESPN, Lifetime Television, , A&E, E!, MIRAMAX, Disney, Touchtone Pictures, 3 major magazines, 11 major local newspapers, 3 major music labels, Hyperion Book Publishers, Infoseek Internet search engine. 6 major market radio stations.
The rest of what’s left is owned by 3 different corporations.
Making matters worse, these media conglomerate corporations own percentages of each others assets, essentially making it one big incestuous monopoly.
These media corporations are wholly subservient to the executive powers of the United States and Great Britain.
The public’s widespread belief that the media works for them and polices the government and it’s politicians is currently being exploited to it’s full potential for the benefit of those in positions of wealth and power.
This is the reason you’ll never hear any serious mainstream media reports about Bigfoot or see any serious documentaries about the subject. They don’t want you to know this creature actually exists, and they control the message.

At the end when the so called film maker gave a little speech saying how maybe Bigfoot should stay hidden, continue to exist as a myth, that to me seemed like a bad attempt to get people to give up on finding Sasquatch. And shows like this continue to contribute to the mocking of the subject. Until the media finally takes this subject seriously and not as a bunch of bs, people will continue to treat is as such, and real witnesses will continue to stay silent due to fear of ridicule.
