At first I thought bear!

To whom it may concern,
I am a housewife to an OTR trucker who lives in a remote cabin with my two son’s and have had VERY STRANGE ACTIVITIES around our cabin. At first I thought bear! Then I realized that bear don’t throw rocks, or make clacking noises with them. I have heard them walking around our cabin grunting and tapping the sides at night. They knock back and forth to each other from the ridge to the valley where a stream is located. We have all heard vocalizations we can’t explain.

My husband and his partner have heard all of this and more when they are on their hometime, in fact when the men are here “they” seem to be MORE emboldened.  To the point “they” have erected a tree structure just 50 yard’s or so from the cabin where calls, knocking and rock’s are thrown from.(While my husband and his partner were here.) It scares me so bad. I can see it from the main windows we open. I can see the tree structure from the back deck where I teach my lessons to the kids on nice day’s.  From the front porch, the main drive to access our cabin.

I can help but to think this is a deliberate act for me to see and know something I clearly don’t!  To think something 8 feet or taller could do that! More importantly why? I am hoping you can put me in touch with someone else who has  successfully diverted the attention of these creatures away from their home. They don’t appear to be aggressive just curious at this point. However the tree structure seems to be a warning of sorts.

Due to the remote area I live in email is the best way to contact me since cell service is spotty at best.

I Have included a pic of this tree structure which has been erected in the past few day’s.  And a screen shot of the cabin to give you an idea of how remote we are out here in the Smokey’s. We live in Tennessee please help!

It is really too bad that so little is known about these creatures that an effective deterrent is not known. I wonder if one was to erect a massive stick structure in their yard – at least 1 1/2 times larger than the one the creatures made if that might deter them. Don’t know – wish I did for this family’s sake. 🙁

I’m not sure. I know this could have a bad reaction to what you mite be trying to do. They could take this as a flexing of your muscles. And could become aggressive. They mite be just letting you know they are there right now. And they are cool with your presence. If they start any thing that may shows that there DEMENOR is in any way trying to show there the boss or not gonadotropin tolerate you, we’ll ya mite want to AMP UP your battle plan. Don’t through food scraps away outdoors. Keep vigil eyes on children. Pets. Ect. Light it up as much as possible. Motion dection lights. Get a wepon.. Get trained with wep. Talk to some people in area if possible. You could get some valuable info on this situation. Be careful at all times. Keep us updated. Thanks

Id put up the game cams as these creatures seem to be at least somewhat able to avoid these it may turn them away or at least keep them away from the cabin. the best example to look at would be the “siege at Honobia” episode . According to the owners of that property lights didnt seem to deter those creatures but they still avoided the game cams. just my thoughts.

OK, I’m going to try to spin a little humor into this situation, with the upmost respect to the lady and her kids. Why not call in the big guns. Get a hold of the dude with the drone, or see if he can get his hands on one of those predator doo-hickies that our tax dollars are building. Call in an air strike on these bustards and turn em into squatch-chops. Invite the entire neighborhood, though well spread out, to an old fashioned, downhome get together to celebrate life. Break out the cider, good cornbread, get the musicians to jam out some good old time bluegrass. Sing me up! I’d be there in a hurry! Stop worrying about all the -rap! Life’s way to short. Our fore-fathers would be rolling in their graves if they could see what we’ve allowed ourselves to be turned into-self induced nanny state. Get some good-old-boys, and go put the fear of God into these things! That’s the only thing they are going to understand. Don’t get upset if a certain Govt. official wants to protect these or something else! Burn the hell out of them!! Protect yourself and your loved ones-get creative!!

The cider, cornbread and bluegrass jam will definitely turn them off. Unfortunately, it might conjur up an entirely different form of opportunist. Ones that drive Volvo wagons, set up camp and smell worse than au du squatch….

There are two things this creature doesn’t like, lights and trail cameras, but i would say that since these creatures seem to be unafraid and intent on being a nuisance that they would destroy both lights and cameras the first chance they got. So the cameras would have to be put out strategically, making sure that each one covers the other, perhaps triangulating them as Les Stroud had suggested in one of his videos, I would guess as far as the lights go, they would need to have some type of heavy gauge wire put around the light itself, like a cage. If that won’t keep them away from the house than i guess it’s time to break out the .600 double barrel elephant gun.

Its such a shame that these things are hell bent on messing with people. Have Bob Garrett come out with his crew and figure something out. Call bear and coonbo to see what they have to say. Those are about the only people I would trust with the task of deterring these things. I would even go so far as to put out poison apples if they become aggressive. What do I know though. Just my .02 cents. Good luck and godspeed and please be carefully!!

Wes can you put this lady in touch with Coonbo, Bear or Bob Garrett; I think they all use high powered laser lights as a flash light, not sure what they would use for security lights around the property….does UPS deliver to this property?

I would sure hate to see this lady turn into a missing 411 case without any serious protection around her house.

Not trying to be completely skeptical but the tree in the image that is folded over has no bark on it, it was obviously standing dead wood. It looks as thought it fell and hooked the branch of the live tree in the picture. Obviously, that would cause the upper half to fold over and the tops of it face the ground. It could be easily explained away as natural… Not discounting her story but that looks completely natural to me.

There’s several things that need done. First and most important, they need a buffer zone. If she doesn’t want them so close to the house, clear a very large section of woods around the house and I mean cut down all the trees. Boogers don’t want to be out in the open especially in the daytime. Then add lots of lights and game cams around the perimeter like others have suggested to discourage them from coming up to the house at night. I’d break out the guns last and only if they get aggressive. Once you cross that line, I think things get real serious and I’m sure a women at home with just the kids doesn’t want to go to war in the middle of the night by herself.

Why do become more emboldened while the husband IS home? Its usually the other way around. That seems awful aggressive to me. After hearing many accounts of them staying away when the male is home. Hmmm, someone needs to help these folks before it gets bad!

From what I understand the cabin is isolated but perhaps she or her husband could ask people in the area if they have similar activity on their properties. I agree with Dave T about creating a ‘buffer zone’ around the cabin, as from what I read so far, they seem to avoid game cams. I also agree with Paul M, she should carry at all times and be well trained. I am not one who believes they should be shot at or killed, but if it comes down to one of them trying to bust open the door and enter the cabin… I too agree that it would be a good idea to send a team to investigate the premises.

Invite the Finding Bigfoot team out. It seems that where ever they are Bigfoot packs it in and clears off. ????
Seriously though, don’t threaten or aggregate them, you won’t win and it might make matters worse if they see it as a challenge. The guys above are right lots of lights seem to be the answer.

All of these suggestions seem right on, but if there was any way you could pack up and get closer to a town, I’d do it. That is, before you or your children become another statistic. The more time goes by and you do nothing, the closer you get to time running out on you. Get out of there….somehow. Best to you dear one. Janetta

LED flood lights. blinds anything, stops most in its tracks. Also Bob Garrett mentioned in one of his shows with Wes, that green and red lazer DOT lights seem to intimidate them and stop them in there tracks. It sounds like this could be a possible remake of, the Siege at Honobia. Not trying to scare anyone, but acting immediately, or moving is going to be only options. I also have to agree with Dave T, a buffer zone is a great idea, so you can keep them far at bay.

You’re right about them building it as a warning. It’s not just to you though. That particular structure warns of “humans”. Now if another stick is threaded straight through. Pack up immidiatly and leave with your kids. Even if it means going to a shelter in town or a friends couch or even in your car. I’ve seen what happens if you cross that line barrier…
