I just had this report sent to me. I will be contacting the witness to get some further details for you.

“I recently moved to Modesto the central valley. My family and I went on vacation back in July up to Burney falls in the town of Burney. We decided to go through Lassen state park on the way to Nevada as I was driving through Lassen i saw this huge light brown gorilla looking thing on the side of the road with its back turn, crouch down on its knees. I didn’t see a face just the back. The back of its head it was just there I was the only car on the road but having my 10 year old and 4 year old sleeping in the back seat made me think twice about going back for a second look. I guess my question is this, has there been reports of sasquatch in Lassen? we go to Burney often to fish and camp out but only once have we drove trough Lassen since I was on vacation I decided to go that route towards Nevada write me back any time when time allows you”

A very good friend of mine, an avid hunter and man of the woods type, was going to call coyotes near Burney, kind of down where you access 1,000 Lakes Wilderness. It was raining, still dark, and he had crawled into his blind by flashlight. Waiting for it to get light enough to start calling, he heard footsteps, squish, squish, in the mud. He said they sounded really heavy, and then stopped, right in front of him. He was afraid to turn on his light, as he described sensing a really large presence, bovine size, are his words. Then, a scream/roar, right at him, says he could feel it as much as hear it. Then, heard it running off, huge splashing steps. He says it so disturbed him, he has never been back to that area. Interesting, this man, for years drove a UPS truck and trailer, from Redding to Eureka and back, every night. Straight through prime BF country, and never saw anything unusual. As I said, he’s truly a man of the woods, hunts with bow, rifle and pistol, a very good friend, I believe every word of it.

Thanks for the report Mr. Kim L. I wonder if he left the blind and the area behind. The scream roar would be heart stopping I would imagine. Thx.

Kim L. you know what I know the 1000 lakes wilderness is a zone for sure!there have been reports right in the town of Burney (only 20 miles from where I was camping this year and P.S. I will have my encounter videos up soon)basically we have Squatches from the U.S. mexico border all along the sierras until you reach Dunsmuir Castle Crags area and that is where the Sasquatch freely cross back and forth from the sierra cascades right into the Pacific Mtn. Ranges.

They are everywhere and are lower or higher because of the rainfall…..it seams they are getting alot or none at all ..

Hi Christopher C,
I once spent 10 days in there ,alone, no gun. I thought BF was a real animal at the time, but had no idea of it’s range. I camped at Lower Twin Lake, the one with no trail. I would tote my float tube to a differant lake every day and enjoy the scenery and great flyfishing. When my son was young, we had many a pleasant backpack trip up there. It makes my skin crawl to know the danger. I guess, I would have had to resort to harsh language for protection. Ignorance was bliss!
Hi PATRICK,
I don’t remember if he skedaddled with anything or not, I do recall him saying that he had constructed the blind several days earlier. Like I said, I believe him, he’s just not the kind of guy that needs to make stuff up.
