“Hey, Mom! What’s for supper tonight?”
    “Squatcher Surprise.”
    “Squatcher Surprise??? What’s that, Mom?”
“It’s when we surprise someone trying to find bigfoot and have him for supper.”
“COOL! I’m hungry! OH! OH! There’s one now….”

    Wow!

You’ve got to realize how unusual seeing that many mountain lions together is! They are normally solitary hunters. I’m guessing that this was a mother and her cubs (yearlings).

Hey BTW, In the name of all things Holy, why did Wes go out a few weeks back unarmed? The video where he started humming….Near his encounter and violated his own rule….Just wondering.

I’ve heard/read some people advocating that you shouldn’t carry a firearm into the woods while looking for BF because that would scare them away from making contact with you. WTF? The forest is where big carnivores live. Black bears will hunt humans. Grizzly’s will kill you just for being to close or surprising them. A pride of mountain lions…well, you’d be a good training mission for mom and her cubs. The surest way to become one with nature is to become a defenseless meal 🙂

This is good advice for sure. The minute you step into the forest , you’re either ‘predator’ or ‘prey’ ….Armed , you’re definitely a ‘predator’.
My friend was killed by a cougar 19 years ago in B.C. She was a black belt and fought for an hour , was still alive when help got there and shot the cougar , but she died there a few minutes later. If only she were armed! She’d still be here today …. I always advise everyone to pack something when you step in the bush, you don’t have to be in fear ….just prepared.
