Abandoned Staircases In The Forests

Over the last six months I have had two different park rangers and a game warden ask me if I knew anything about these abandoned staircases in the middle of nowhere. I have never heard of this before.

In national parks around the world, so the story goes, there are abandoned staircases. Deep in the woods, where no man appears to have ever lived, you’ll find them – just a staircase, no other structure. Some of the staircases are brick, some in ruins, some perfectly sturdy, some cast iron spirals like the kind you’d find in a lighthouse, reaching up to nowhere.

The game warden explained to me he was told not to go near them and never go up the stairs almost like a warning. The one he found was in perfect condition almost like it was just built but it led to nowhere and there was no sign of an old building that it was once apart of.

I have never heard of this before and all I can find online is Reddit users talking about it and that doesn’t seem very reliable to me. If it is true, it seems like a weird thing to do in the middle of nowhere. I am sure there is a rational explanation for this. Maybe there was once a building there and all that remains is the staircase?

Have any of the members heard of this?

I have heard stories but nothing I’ve ever experienced. I heard enough about them it really started to seem like something but then again I haven’t done anything but read stories. Just seems like something people wouldn’t make up, staircases?!

Its a made up story from reddit and creepy pasta for kids. Ive came across abandoned ghost town deep in the sierras while backpacking off trail. But they are nothing supernatural just old mining camps that grew then were deserted. Do some digging and youl find out most of those stair cases are hoaxes

THE STAIRCASE STORY. Yes, I did read about a story many years ago of a SEARCH & RESCUE OFFICER coming across STAIRS in the forest. This guy wrote weekly on a blog. He said he did not know where else to post the story. I remember he also wrote about weird/strange things he came across in the forest, the STAIRS was one of his stories. I think he wrote for 5 or 6 weeks. Anyway, I thought maybe it is still on the internet and I did find it, it looks like he posted 5 years ago. I did not read it again since there is so much to read, week after week. If you want to read his other stories, just check on the bottom of the page for the next week. They are weird stories I must warn you. I will send a link, if the link does not work then try Searching for FOREST SERVICE STAIRS.

I can’t recall the researcher(s) that were interviewed, but i have heard of these stairs over the years. I believe a few times on coast to coast am……park employees talking about them…..
    Bet David Palides has info…..

Heard of these staircases but not recently. The stories have been posted online, supposedly shared by all manner of forestry division workers, search & rescue, police officers, hikers, etc. Usually they’re located deep within the forests. And, yes, everyone is warned to keep away from them at all costs.

Wes, I read an interesting post to a YT vid on the stairs in forest subject, “Reptilian trap to abduct people.” It reminded me of your Duke’s Conspiracy Corner vids on Phil Schneider (D.U.M.B.). Maybe in the end all roads will lead to an alien race underground and bigfoot’s are grown in labs to carry out tasks for their underground masters who track them using advanced drones we call orbs!

Someone asked Dave Paulides about this at a speaking engagement and he said it is not a reality. I am fairly certain it started out as story posted on a blog site and someone ran with it.

I’ve heard this before. There are sometimes old steps that were part of an old homestead that you’ll find on your hikes. But these are different. You may see them in one place then when you return they’re in a different spot, and often near….water. The guy in this vid experienced it as a kid.

I’ve heard if it before but more frequently now . Very weird to see the first one is granite and would take a while to make out in the Forest especially lugging all the materials to make it

Often these are stair cases made of stone, brick, concrete, etc. that have survived the wooden structure that no longer exists, perhaps due to fire. There is no real mystery, but has more to do with made up fanciful anecdotes.
