A Quick Exit

A listener writes “Hi Wes this is Stephen who had the encounter at his grandparents property in TX. And the reason I said possible is cause I didn’t see anything just heard vocals. My ex girlfriend apparently saw something according to her brother. And she won’t speak to me anymore due to the experience.

We went out camping in the Sam Houston national forest and we was out primitive camping. We found a spot about 500 yards in the woods from where I parked my car. I went to bed about 8 pm so I would be able to get up and get things together for fishing and hiking on Sunday. My girlfriend at the time didn’t believe in Sasquatch or Dogman even tho I told her my encounters on my grandparents property. She would usually make little jokes and things when I would be outside smoking at night and would jump at little things like a twig or limb breaking in the woods behind her house. I told her we could go camping in a spot I know they are usually in from listening to your show. Which now was idiotic of me to even do. Well around 3 am I was woken up by a loud scream and apparently there was little strange noises going on around our camp cause my girlfriend was awake and when she saw me awake she if she could get my car keys so she could sleep in the car. I gave them to her and she started off with a flashlight to the car. I laid there after grabbing my danish axe and listened to see if I could hear anything else. After that loud scream there wasn’t any other sounds. So I ended up drifting off to sleep. When I woke up it was around 8 am and I got up and started off to get my girlfriend from the car so we could have breakfast and get our stuff ready for the day. When I got to where I parked the car I noticed it was gone. I went back to camp and noticed I had miss a call from her brother.

Apparently she drove back during the night and went to her brothers house in Corsicana. He asked what happened cause she was scared out of her mind and not wanting to talk about it. I told him about the scream we heard and all the other sounds she told me she was hearing before that. He ended up coming back and helped me pack up the camp around noon. And we headed out. We ended up breaking up three days after that due to the events. And I am curious about what scared her so bad that caused her to just take off. She won’t talk to me about the night and won’t stay out past 9 pm.”

    Oh boy, I’ll take 3 guesses at where they were and the first two don’t count ?

    I’d be SO pissed if I got up (or back) and the car was gone!!! I know she was scared but …… ?

      I need to cut the top off of a school bus and open a new ‘Sam Houston’s Sasquatch Scream’ Tour- we will just cruise through the forest in the middle of the night…..we need not even see anything, it’ll just freak us all out by hearing the sounds, lol. ?
      Tbh, I WILL NOT take the hard top of the Jeep at night on some of those roads….too spooky.

    Get her on the show. Seems like she got scared by a bear according to our government as Squatchs are not real. It’s bears like in Ohio, Florida, West coast of the US, and just about all of the US. Poor gal had a traumatic experience but she made fun of the boyfriend for his sightings of the mythical beast. She earned her Girl Scout badge in Cryptids that night and left her bf out there with no escape. Hope both people are okay but be careful what you ask for. Because the boogie man I mean bear may be there waiting for you to say BOO. She encountered a truly terrifying pucker moment in the Sam Houston National Forest and she is lucky to be alive and talk about it.

    Sounds like you lucked out in a couple ways that weekend, you were able to wake up and leave the next day and you learned your value to the ex. Sure she walked to car herself but that was her choice and I assume she didn’t ask for an escort, it sounds like you were going after her but fell back asleep listening for any other sounds and for her to not even honk the horn to give you an option is plain messed up. I could have it all wrong and not sure why I even wrote all this, guess I’m bored!
