A Huge Figure In The Ditch

A listener writes “Good morning Wes, I’m from Orange Texas. About ten years ago I had a few interesting experience behind my house. I was twelve or thirteen when this happened.

I was riding my four wheeler on a trail that runs along side a very deep drainage ditch. The trail is over a mile long and backs up to a large area of private land that is used for cattle. About half way down the trail was where I saw the Sasquatch.

The bottom of the trail has lots of cattails and stays pretty wet all the time. I was riding by and actually passed the spot I saw it but I noticed an unusually dark spot within the cattails. On my way back from the end of the trail, I rounded a corner and saw a huge figure on the opposite side of the ditch.

It had one foot on the bottom of the ditch and one hand on the top edge of the ditch, it was caught trying to climb out of the ditch with one leg about waist high the other hand was around the chest area. As I drove by (quickly) it never moved to get away or hide. The only part that moved was the head, just enough for me to notice. I was absolutely terrified.

I got home as fast as I could, jumped off the four wheeler before it came to a stop and cried. I’m wasn’t a scared kid, I grew up in those woods, day light to dark I was outside as much as I could. After this encounter it was a long time before I was comfortable enough to go back in the woods. The older I got I started to put certain things together thinking maybe these creatures were around me more then I was aware. My encounter is something few people know about my parents and wife are aware of it but that’s about it. Love your show, it’s something that we have started enjoying a few years ago and don’t plan on stopping. I’d love to hear your thoughts, please feel free to reach out. Your helping lots of people out with your show, it is much appreciated.”

The city of Orange is literally one of the easternmost points in Texas, right where Interstate 10 crosses into Louisiana. It’s swampy and wooded. Perfect habitat for these creatures. What a terrifying encounter for this young man – I hope he can tell us more about his experiences.
